It was OK

Even though we booked a room with twin beds (Parents and their teenager), the hotel only provided a king, plus one of those incredibly uncomfortable roll-in beds with the nasty springs. Turns out the hotel overbooked the rooms with twin beds because Britney Spears had a concert in town and of course all the mums and teens were in the hotel. They did give us the right room for the second day.

Failed to honor free breakfast deal

When I went here, the restaurant staff had no clue about the free breakfast weekend deal. The guy at the check-in desk sided with me, but I shouldn't have had to deal with that. They need to train their staff better. I skipped the breakfast and paid for a much better served dinner at the Clear Lake, IA Perkins. Also, the bed was hard as a rock. The two stars in my overall rating go to the guy at the front desk and concierge who directed me to a gas station.

Fantastic Hotel for good value, great price, and fantastic Location

I love the Marriott Hotel Minneapolis. It is in Downtown is which is a superb location to do alot of things in town and around. The hotel is connected to the Skyway System which means if you come in the winter you wont have to step outdoors to go the different buildings, centers, etc... that is in downtown Minneapolis. The hotel has a great venue for hosting meetings and exhibitions. The hotel defintiely does cater to the business travel with a lot of business amenities. However I was there to visit friends who happened to attend the U of Minnesota which is a quick 10 minute drive to the center of campus and only a 5 minute drive or 15 to 20 minute walk to the Metrodome for the games. The hotel rooms are really nice. The beds are very plush and you get a lot of amenties in a standard room.. including a great view of the city. The entrance is a little wierd, must go to the 5 floor of the building to find lobby and the valet and bellhop assume you already know this. All in all a great hotel. Weekend rates are inexpensive!! great central location to do great shopping in downtown Minneapolis and a 30 minute tram ride to the mall or 20 minute drive to the mall. Planning to stay again at this hotel. : )

Marriott Minneapolis City Center

Its central location for exploring downtown made this hotel ideal for a weekend getaway. Ended up getting a great deal ($70 a night) through Priceline and couldn't have been happier. The hotel was nice enough, with panoramic views of the city and river sprawled out in every direction below. Comfy beds, clean rooms, and plenty of space made the hotel the perfect home base between jaunts out and around the city.

Situated on 7th Street downtown, it was an easy and pleasant walk to Orchestra Hall, the location of the city's famed Sommerfest. Along the way, if you're lucky enough to be here in the summer, you'll pass through a colorful open-air street market, where you can purchase fresh produce, flowers, or grab a bite to eat.

In addition, the hotel was nearby many restaurants, almost too many great bars to count, and just a stone's throw from the Warehouse District, which springs to life at night with a vibrant energy most cities would die for.

Marriott Hotels never let me down and the Marriott City Center is one of the best that I''ve had the pleasure to stay in. Located in the center of Minneapolis, most night spots and restaurants are within a 5 block radius. Vikings Stadium is a stone''s throw, if you want to see a Vikings game. And the Target Center is right next door, if you want to take in a Timberwolves game. Service is stupendous and the accommodations are clean and spacious.
