Very uncompassionate

We're out of town visiters, in Bellingham due to unfortunate circumstances: my brother is in intensive care at St.Jo's Hospital. The hospital gave us a list of hotels that offer discounted "compassion" rates- La Quinta was on the list. We stayed there for several nights at a discount and everyone was wonderful. However, we were told we had to leave when they booked up all the rooms. They booked our two rooms without asking if we planned to stay longer where previously we had been told it was open-ended (by the manager no less!!!) We fully believe they did this because they were able to get a highter fee for the rooms this weekend. It was very rude to inform us the night before. It was offensive that they did not apologize or seem to care that we are dealing with a lot of stress and it was poor hospitality not to check in with us to see what our plans were for our stay. We would have gladly given our estimates for how many more days/weeks we might need a room. I HIGHLY suggest looking at one of the other many hotels on Meridian rather than wasting your time or money at a place with such little professionalism or "compassion."
