We met with the timeshare sales agent as part of the check-in procedure. He wanted to set up a meeting to show us a new resort Orbit One was selling. He was very okay with rejection and made no more attempts. While there was a lot of time-share activity in the lobby of the main building every day, we felt no timeshare pressure at any time.
This area was beat up by three hurricanes last year, and the area including the resort shows some of the abuse. There is repair happening all around the resort—roofs being replaced, screened porches repaired, etc. The resort is very clean and our unit was extremely clean. (One will find extra construction garbage and extra dumpsters due to the construction.)
There are a number of opportunities for outdoor activities. There are what seem to be brand new basketball and shuffle board courts as well as a putting green. There are also tennis courts, a nice kids play area, and an arcade. There are two pools. The main pool has waterslides. It is in older condition, but very usable and comfortable. While our kids wanted to stay at the pool with the waterslides, walk-bys of the other pool led me to think that it was in good condition as well—older, but well kept.
Checkout was quick, and we had no problems and were able to be on our way easily.
Probably the greatest advantage to this resort is its location. If you hang a left out of the resort you come to a stop light almost immediately. This is Route 192, a very popular strip in Kissimmee. Cross this—you don’t need to put up with this extra traffic. Once across, you will drive only the equivalent of a couple blocks and you are on Disney’s land and driving by Animal Kingdom Lodge and Animal Kingdom. You could literally go from the resort to Animal Kingdom in 5-10 minutes, and it is very easy access to all the other parks and you avoid all traffic gridlock caused at the 192-I4 area.
Bottom line: This is an older resort working hard to update, fix up, and clean up. If you need the newest and shiniest in your vacation resort, this isn’t the place. If you want quality, a nice place to stay, and a clean unit, this is a great choice. We would stay here again.
