Safety Concerns

While the staff was quite friendly and generally helpful and the price was okay for the type of motel it was, the room was not really very clean. In particular, when we pulled back the bedspread, there were some candy wrappers and food crums on the floor between the bedspread and the base of the bed. Apparently, the bed had been made before the room was vacuumed, and the area around the bed hidden by the bedspread was thus not vacuumed. However, a much bigger concern was the fact that the inside deadbolt room lock was not functioning properly. When we were leaving for breakfast in the morning, we were unable to unlock the door to leave! The deadbolt was somehow stuck. A staff person heard us trying to open the door because our room was near the lobby, and she came to assist and told us what to do (indicating that it was apparently not a one-time occurrence), but it would have been a major safety problem had an emergency necessitated opening the door in the middle of the night. While one may forgive a less than thorough maid, such a safety issue, in my opinion, indicates an inexcusable lack of maintenance. I would think twice before staying there again.

Sanitary nightmare!

We got to the hotel and were not expecting the Ritz but when we got into our room and I went in the bathroom it was simply appalling! There were pubic and head hairs all over the tub, floor, sink, that bathroom had not been clean. We asked for another room, and they still had the nerve to go check and make sure we weren't lying about the hair! Our second room was about the same except the hair was dog hair all over the couches and chairs and the bed of course had human hairs as well. Everything had dust on it and I don't mean yesterday's dust, I mean dust that could've only collected over weeks! We got a THIRD room and by this time my husband was already outside ready to leave. I talked to the manager, who informed me that the other two rooms were out of order and that the desk worker had made a mistake, apparently it was his first day...right! I got the key to the room, which I didn't need because the room was open...I walked in almost had a break down, IT WAS ALSO DIRTY!!! Three rooms under the same conditions, filty, simply unsanitary! I was expecting a simple room for the price we paid, no high expectations, but I did expect it to have been cleaned. Don't make the same mistake, we ended up wasting 4 hours trying to get our new reservations, ended up paying and extra $250, not to mention the aggravation...

Would never stay here again!

Stayed with family. One room wasn't clean (sink had spit in it), maid did not restock towels after second night. Breakfast was suppose to last until 9 am, and front desk person was cleaning it up at 815. She asked if I was going to eat anything else and then took everything away. I complained to the front desk that afternoon and the next morning the food was still there at 9 am. There was a gap between the air conditioning unit and the wall, so you could see outside through the hole. Our keys didn't work the 2nd day when we got back to our rooms. Took the front desk 3 tries to program them with the correct room number. These are all things that should be simple and required of any hotel. The staff could do a much better job of trying to please their guests.

Room was nicely arranged. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was awesome! Loved staying here because it is a quiet hotel and is minutes away from everything in lincoln. I have stayed at many hotels in the area but this one is the best!
