Good Stay

I was a little worried when I booked this room based on other reviews, however, we were more than pleased with our stay. We had a balcony overlooking the little pidgeon and didn't have any more spiders than you saw walking from shop to shop. Hotel is very close to the road and there seemed to be a lot of Harley action everynight, which I was afraid would keep me awake as I don't sleep well. This wasn't an issue and I slept well every night. In fairness to the Comfort Inn, most hotels in Gatlinburg are along this same strip of road and probably have the same noise issues. I found the beds to be quite comfortable and there were 4 pillows on each bed. The bathroom was quite small, however, wasn't a huge issue as that's not where we spent our time. We did have to get a plunger when we first arrived, as the toilet was plugged, but after plunging, it was not an issue again. When we arrived, we found the front desk staff to be very friendly. The day clerk was even nicer. We were treated very well and everyone working there was friendly. They were very helpful when we had questions or needed directions in the area. We enjoyed the pool at the hotel and rarely found it to be crowded. The pool was deep, which we liked, however, didn't have much shallow area for kids. If you have kids who can't swim, I would strongly recommend taking life jackets t assure their safety. We had no problems finding parking at the hotel. The breakfast area was small and often was crowded when we went down. Very basic breakfast, nothing fancy, but they did have waffles and fresh fruit. Would stay here again.
Very disappointed

I called for a reservation and was greeted nicely. I asked if it was winthin walking distance to the downtown shops and was told it was. However, that's not true, unless you like to the long 3 mile hike to downtown. The desk clerk was rude, the room smelled of mold and had dirt in the corners. There was noise of loud motor cycles & traffic all night. It reminds me of a shady hotel you would stay at while traveling in the 50's.
I've stayed in better & worse places...

Bed was comfortable; way too much outside noise from the Parkway leaks into room, lots of motorcycles revving. Nice view of river. Far from most G'burg attractions. Dresser drawer was broken but I didn't need it anyway. Overall ok, would personally prefer to stay off Parkway next time.
