Nice Getaway!

The Horizon's is a wonderful place to spend the holidays! It is conveniently located close to restaurants, shopping, entertainment, Christmas festivities, etc. We enjoy the vacation "HOME" aspect vs. just staying in another hotel room. The resort offers lot's of amenities, I especially like the full kitchen, spaciousness of the 1-2 bedroom units, and the in room laundry facilities. My family has been going in December for the past 4 years and we are going again this year. Marriott quality speaks for itself.

I stayed here as kind of a last minute place and it was wonderful!! They only have 2 Villa areas open now as the others are still under construction but I couldn't have been happier with what they already had open! The rooms were great and the staff even better!

"We just took our two sons to Silver Dollar City for the first time. I booked this room after reading the previous great reviews. They were right - this is a fabulous hotel. Clean, spacious rooms with full kitchen. Our only problem was the guest noise from the floor above us. Next time we will request a top-floor room. Will definitely stay here again."

Best Things About the Resort:
Newly built, comfortable beds, concierge service (get your show tickets there), great location, indoor swimming pool, great decor, free popcorn in the main lodge. Ask for the FREE coupon book, great savings on a lot of Branson and Springfield businesses.

Resort Experience:

We stayed at the Marriott Horizons Vacation Club (a condo resort, but rooms can be rented nightly). Horizons was nice, but don't be deceived by "villas"; rooms and condos are in buildings. I recommend getting at least the two-bedrooms; otherwise, there's not much room, and your TV/mini-kitchen is right there at the foot of the bed (not appealing).

Our one-room was not big enough (queen bed and pull-out sofa), and our bath only had a shower. There's an extensive outdoor pool area (closed at our visit) but a wonderful indoor pool and hot jet spa. Outside, there are grills available. A play area is only open until 5pm, and since we were out during the day, we did not get to use it. A gym and gathering room with movie viewing (at check-in a schedule is provided) are available. There is no on-site dining or groceries, but Krispy Kreme, Denny's, etc., are not far away.

I recommend the Pirate Cove Mini Golf (walking distance) for entertaining kids. The staff was not very friendly on my visit (from the front desk to the maids), but I feel it was due to lack of training/experience and hope this has been resolved. Overall, I recommend the place and will try it again in a larger "villa".

Horizons by Marriott Vacation Club

During my last trip to Branson I stayed at the Horizons by Marriott Vacation Club. This was a great condo with everything we needed and in a great location. This condo is on a back road that has less traffic just off of highway 76 in the main part of town. There are lots of shows and restaurants really close and also the winery would actually be walking distance.

The club house area that has the front desk is a beautiful inviting building. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful when arriving. I have asked for an early check in in advance and our room was ready when we arrived about 11:30am. At the time of check-in, I asked for a high chair which was delivered to our room later that afternoon. The club house area also contained an indoor pool, and indoor children’s pool. There was a children’s play area with many children’s activities, a den with a fireplace, and a game room in the building too.

Outside of this building and in the middle of all the condos is a huge outdoor pool area that also has a children’s pool. During the summer they also serve drinks and ice cream in the outdoor pool area.

We rented a two-bedroom, two-bath condo. Our condo was very clean and nicely furnished. The master bedroom had a king bed with a private bathroom. This bathroom only had a shower though. The living area had nice neat furniture and has a sleeper sofa. There was a dining area with a bench seat on one side and chairs on the other. The kitchen was fully furnished with a dishwasher and all new appliances and nice dishes. There was also a washer and dryer both in the room. The second bedroom had two queen beds and the second bathroom was a huge full bathroom with a tub shower unit. There were three TVs: one in each bedroom and one in the living room. The living room also had a nice sized balcony that overlooked the outdoor pool area. They delivered a newspaper to our door every morning.
