NOT TOO BAD

I came to Altoona on April 10, 2009 and was only going to stay one night. This place was so nice and everyone was very helpful, so I stayed on for another two nights. I didn't want anything fancy, just a clean bed to sleep and and clean shower. If you are not looking to spend a lot of money, and don't mind no gym, this is a nice place to stay

I stayed at this hotel at the beginning of March 2009. It was nothing fancy, but it is a clean place with friendly staff.
The breakfast has really improved at the Econo Lodge. They have waffles, muffins, coffee, O.J., apple juice. You can't beat this place for the price.
I will definitely be returning there in the near future.

Dirty! Upon pulling down bed sheets and climbing into bed, found a NEEDLE and attached thread--the needle between the sheets, with the thread pulled through the blanket and bedspread. Did not complain that night, but slept on top of covers (the hotel was packed). When asked the next morning about our stay, and told them, they said they couldn't refund the money because we had booked online so it had already gone through, but they would give us a voucher for a room in the future. Did not take, as we will NEVER stay here again. Also, ice located very far from room--inconvenient.

The room was dirty and smelly. My children found pepperoni on the floor (we had nothing with pepperoni) We had to go buy an air freshener because it stunk. You could only get ice and snacks in the lobby which was not attached to the hotel, so you had to walk across the parking lot and around a building to get to the lobby, and then carry the ice back the same way. Next time I will pay a couple of dollars more and stay at a better hotel. Thankfully it was only for 1 night, or we would have had to leave anyways and find another hotel.
