Screwed On Price

Booked over 9 weeks ahead on an online travel website to get the best price. Ended up paying 3 times more for the room than someone walking in off the street because the hotel had a ton of empty rooms. The Riviera was giving discounts to people the booked directly with them. The online travel website would not adjust the room cost. I'm an online travel website VIP and was told"that's the way it is...sorry." The hotel was remodeled and the room was nice. Nice bed, flat screen and very clean. Buffet in hotel was a great deal. Sign up at players club for even more discounts on hotel food. The strip looks like a war zone with constuction. I won't be back for a long time.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 days, 3 nights. King bed/ Smoking was not available the first night so I was put in double bed/smoking. As I contacted the front desk to get switched into King/Smoking room, first of all the front desk was RUDE and then second of all, they moved me into a King bed/Non-smoking. I gustered enough patience to call the rude front desk to, once again, switch my room. The next morning, they did. The renovated rooms are nice and the beds in those rooms are MUCH more comfortable than the beds in the older "Smoking" rooms.

The hotel is not located in the best location along the strip and there are several construction projects adjacent to the hotel. If you are interested in the free sidewalk shows along the strip, you will need to walk at least 15-minutes away from the hotel.

DUMP

Booked online on one of the travel sites under the heading "mystery hotel" .......based soley on the price.....i believe around 39 dollars....before they tacked on the energy surcharge. We were also charged 7 dollars for using the room safe, after all i did was literally TOUCH the handle. We were promised a deluxe newly renovated room, plasma TV etc etc. Well we got none of that, in fact they were in the middle of remodeling the joint, which usually started promptly at around 7 am. Staff is a joke, we asked the gal sitting behind the front desk doing NOTHING (while we checked ourselves in which is a joke) which room/tower shoud we choose for the best view of the strip, and she gave us directions the long way around to our little dump with the view of another building under construction. Won zero money in the casino, very dated, drink service terrible. The only plus is the Slots-O-Fun is right across the street.....$2 or $3 blackjack and roulette, 99 cent hot dogs, cheap beer...way better than the Riveria's poor excuse for a casino Bottom line, don't stay here!!!
