Westward Ho Hotel And Casino

My aunt decided to take me on one of her "cheap" vacations, and we ended up staying at the Westward Ho. Then we transferred to another hotel during the middle of the week. The hotel was out in back in a ghetto looking area; the front part had a casino that was on the Las Vegas Strip, which also had a restaurant with a buffet and some other little stores.

The service at the Westward Ho was surprisingly wonderful when we stayed there. The people were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were in desperate need of a remodel. The rooms were clean for the most part, except the large beetle that we found in our bed. Don't go near the buffet, the food was edible but not very tasty. I think the movie "Vegas Vacation" must have mocked the "blue stuff" on this buffet and used it in their movie. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me not to want to go back.

It’s very cheap to stay here, but I wouldn't recommend it if you can afford to stay elsewhere. I was using a wheelchair at the time and they put me quite a ways away from the casino. Plus, they put me on the second floor. I wasn't sure what they were thinking.

The rooms are very old. There were wires hanging out of one of our outlets and some of the outlets didn't even work. The beds were horrible! I couldn't sleep much. The bathrooms seemed dirty, but maybe just because they are so old. They have security monitoring the outside, but I didn't feel very secure.

On the upside, it is next to Circus Circus, Slots, The Riviera, and a Mc Donald’s. It is very easy to obtain enough points to stay for free, but I personally don't plan to revisit their rooms. I heard they might have a new expansion. I am not sure if it is true, but those rooms may not be so bad.
