another great stay

I have stayed at this place over a dozen times. It is VERY kid friendly. The workout facility is better than any other place I have stayed and the spa is fantastic. Really fantastic. Stay in the historic section. Rooms are small but charming. Anyways, in a place like this, you shouldn't be in your room that much. The corner rooms in the historic section are much larger than the non-corner rooms. You can find great deals on the web for this place.

There are three parts to the hotel; the main house, Samson Wing, and the Vanderbilt Wing. I have stayed in the Vanderbilt Wing and the Main House. Both times the rooms were beautiful! All the rooms are done in dark wood furniture and the beds are heavenly! The bathrooms are over-sized and the amenities are wonderful.

We traded Disney Vacation Club points for our room since the inn was listed as all booked up on the Internet. When we arrived, we were asked what part of the inn we wished to stay in, as there are two new wings and the older main inn. I said the old part!

We were given a room on the top-floor center, overlooking the spa and Asheville. We loved the room, even though it only had one high-up window.

Historic hotel with beautiful views and facilities. Several Presidents have vacationed here. The room next to mine had a plaque on the door which stated that George Bush (Sr.) had stayed there once when he was Vice President.
Expensive, but worth it for a splurge. There is also a spa on site and tennis courts, etc.

Luxurious. The hotel has a commanding view of the valley and the Asheville skyline from its huge deck. Having a drink on the deck before dinner as the sun goes down is something you''ll want to come back for. The amazing lobby has mission-style furniture and huge fireplaces with high ceilings. The rooms are very nice, although I''d recommend staying in the old hotel rather than the newer wings - the rooms in the old hotel have more personality. The resort also has a few restaurants - one of which is extremely nice with a dress code that serves various game dishes. This is a very romantic place to stay, so if you''re trying to impress someone... The resort also has golf and tennis, and they should be done with their $20 million spa any day (the spa looks unbelievable). Be sure to check out swanky new website for specials (under Rates and Packages).
