So this isn't a luxury hotel, there are no pretensions made about that. Then again, $54 a night, a decent room, clean sheets, plenty of entertainment, and a location right along the Las Vegas strip is pretty good. There is a bus stop right outside, plenty of stuff right nearby (although you aren't in the center of the trip near the fanciest hotels) plenty of restaurants, with most that seemed to be on the less expensive side. An entire enclosed amusement park, arcade, and circus. This place is for the budget minded and for families, the lines to check-in were long. There was a long and winding maze through not one but two casino floors, and a mini mall just to get to our room, but we spent so little time in the hotel it didn't really matter. The rooms were comfortable and clean enough and the price was right, being next-door to Slots O'Fun with it's $1,$2, and $3 black tables was also a plus. Oh, and the free table lessons every weekday morning were also pretty cool. The dealer giving the instructions gave good and straightforward run-down of the rules and strategy tips for craps, blackjack ,and roulette for newbies (like we were).

I''m under the impression that things with Circus Circus have now drastically improved. I sure hope they made improvements with their rooms. Anyway, we''ve chosen Circus Circus for two reasons: it was cheap (remember that saying, "you get what you pay for? It''s true) and we wanted something that was kid friendly for my 10-year-old son (at that time).
Outside of the room, it was great!! They had so many things for the kids and even for the adults who are kids at heart. (I''m one of those adults who never wants to grow up).
Some of the things Circus Circus has on-site are:
MIDWAY: This is an arcade area where fun and games begins that surrounds the circus stage. What an awesome sight for kids to see. Whatever games you play, you always have a chance to win great prizes.
Another added convenience of the Midway and Circus upstairs is there is a path right by some slot machines where kids can go upstairs. Why is this convenient? Well, the kids can easily come down and beg for more money (to play more games). I''ve always made sure to stay right next to the stairs. Whenever my son would come down, I would be sure to see him.
CIRCUS ACTS: As mentioned above, this is also upstairs by the Midway. They are open from 11am till midnight. I''ve chosen to watch a few Circus Acts with my son. What a show these people put on!! Great, exciting, and truly fun.
ADVENTUREDOME: Now, we''re talking. This is a 5-acre theme park that is located behind the west tower of Circus Circus. You want rides, excitement, or exhilirating fun? Then Adventuredome is the place!! They have an all-day pass which you can purchase. It''s worth it to purchase this pass. Kids love it and would want to go again and again.
Overall, I would recommend this place for entertainment, but not for a place to stay. There are other hotels that are much nicer. If they have renovated their rooms, great!! It sure needed it in 1997.

I chose the hotel because it was part of a reasonably priced airfare/lodging package through Northwest Airlines. Total bill was $679, which included roundtrip airfare for two between Boise and LV, hotel stay for 3 nights, and two round-trip passes for On Demand Shuttle (highly recommended) which got us from the airport to the hotel and back.
