Description: I looked at hotels on several Internet sites, looked at different pictures, and finally decided on the Clarion Hotel at the Palace. It looked really nice, and I booked our rooms there. When we arrived, the building was in a good location and looked great from the front. The lobby was really neat and nice looking. When we checked in, they told use to drive around behind that building to our room. Well, I was very disappointed. The room we were given was in the back and in a separate building that was very rundown. The room entrances were on the outside, and I really would rather have interior rooms. The room was large and clean, with a refrigerator, but really old. We complained to management, and they said that that room was all they had and to check back the next day. We did finally get moved to the new building the next morning, and the rooms were new and nice, although a little smaller and no refrigerator. We did have a balcony in this room that overlooked the pool area.
They did have a continental breakfast that was pretty good. They had waffle irons and waffle mix so you could make hot waffles. We also ate in the restaurant that night, and the service and food was pretty good, but they did not have a wide selection on the menu.
On Sunday morning, they did hold a short church service in their restaurant that was a pretty good service.
I would not return to this hotel again because I felt I was very mislead by all the Internet pictures and it never mentioning that they also had an large older building in the back that many guest rooms are in.
