WestGate Vacation VIllas

We stayed in the older section of the resort (D9). It was spacious and very clean, although some of the cabinetry was worn. The mattress in the Master Bedroom (King size) was horrendous. It was beyond soft, mushy, and lumpy. It had a well in the middle you couldn't help but roll into. The 2 bedroom unit had a Master bedroom with a full bath and additional vanity and sink right outside the bathroom. It also had sliders to a screened balcony. Large TV and good sized closet. The second bedroom had 2 queen sized beds and a full bath. It also had an additional vanity and sink outside the bathroom, large TV and closet. Large living room with queen sized leather sleeper sofa and matching chair. Large TV and DVD player. Table for 6 and counter seating for 2. Fully equipped kitchen w/ washer/dryer. Plenty of towels, bath & pool. Very adequate unit.

Best Things Nearby:
Walt Disney World, all area attractions, and shopping

Best Things About the Resort:
It's right in the middle of everything. The unit was spacious and clean. The pool was great.

Resort Experience:
The resort was conveniently located within 20 minutes of Orlando’s international airport and only minutes from all the Disney parks. The resort was, in my opinion, very large, with over 10 pools and hundreds of units. The biggest drawback was the check-in procedure. I was told to park in a special lot, so I had to park hundreds of feet away from the clubhouse and walk to the clubhouse to check-in. While waiting in line for check-in, there were numerous staff members milling about, but only one person checking people in. Also, a staff member called 2 days before our check-out and told us that we had to meet with him to discuss the resort to avoid a long check-out procedure. Upon meeting him, it became obvious that this was a ploy to try and sell us another timeshare. Upon hearing I was a RCI exchange guest, he became very uninterested in me and said that he was very busy and would put me in the computer as having attended. PS: There is no express check-out, and I still had to go to the club house to check out.

Best Things Nearby:
The resort is very close to Disney World, but there are no sidewalks to actually walk there. Driving or alternate transportation is a must.

Best Things About the Resort:
The staff at the front counter is excellent. Despite warnings I read stating that the check-in of 4pm is strictly enforced, they checked us in at 1:30pm. We were there with friends (who also exchanged with RCI), and the lady at the counter spent quite a while making sure we were in units close to each other. The resort is huge, so this was quite a feat. She even upgraded them to a two-bedroom. They never once bothered us about seeing a timeshare presentation.

Resort Experience:
The room was beautiful. The master bedroom had a large Jacuzzi tub, and the spare bedroom had its own Jacuzzi with a large soaker tub. We had a screened-in porch (on the main level), and it was a couple of steps to the pool. The living room had a large leather sectional with a pull-out bed. The unit came equipped with all the necessities to make you feel at home, but I have to admit that the kitchen was quite small. It was a galley-style kitchen, so getting two people in there was a little tough, plus the laundry facilities were in a closet in the kitchen, which I found odd and rather inconvenient.

Overall, this was a wonderful resort, and if I ever go back to Kissimmee, I would go there again.

Best Things About the Resort:
We loved the unit, resort amenities and the people at reception.

Resort Experience:
Ceramics, two full baths, whirlpool bath, TVs in each room (3), laundry appliances in kitchen - the unit made you take in a breath of luxury. Apparently, Westgate offers three grades of units, starting from single-character condos to triple-character units. Ours was the latter, and the unit was amazing! Directly outside was a medium-sized pool, with two seven-person hot tubs. The carpets were terribly dirty, so socks got quite dark or we had to wear shoes. There is a request to fill out a condo maintenance questionnaire, which was easy enough to do, but it allowed the sales department a chance to talk to you about timeshare opportunities at Westgate!

Best Things Nearby:
Having shopping available. Most will enjoy having Disney right at their doorsteps, but we had no desire to go there. We were happy to have other amenities available so close by.

Best Things About the Resort:
Their pools are very nice and there were many to enjoy. The master suite is quite sensual with many mirrors.

Resort Experience:
Very well kept facility. The only thing that was a little uncomfortable was that everything was quite breakable -- glass table, all dishes were glass, and tile floor through most of the unit. With a family of five children, this was a little nerve-wracking, but we did great with no accidents.
