Suites of Eastern Slope

Best Things Nearby:
The resort is right in middle of North Conway, so you can walk to shops, restaurants, and the movies.

Best Things About the Resort:
Location, parking, cleanliness, the quiet, and the beautiful mountains that you can see from your suite

Resort Experience:
The suites are in the back of the inn and separate from the inn. The suites are very large, with a partial kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge, two burners, coffee pot, and any type of utensil you could want, along with plates, cups, etc. Also, there was a washer and dryer in the unit. The bed comes down from the wall and is very comfortable for two people to sleep on. There is a table also near the kitchen that seats four people.

The suite was very clean and pretty new inside. The bathroom was very large, with a Jacuzzi tub and two sinks, along with a closet. You could live here with no problem for a few weeks if you wanted to. The TV was very large, and you could get all TV stations.

The inn has a very large pool and hot tub. There is also a hot tub outside. The exercise room has two treadmills, a stair-stepper, and weights, and it was a very nice touch. They also have a movie room where movies are shown a couple nights a week. There is a restaurant attached to the inn call Flatbreads, which is wonderful, and it has a coffee shop. I would definitely go back to this resort again.

Eastern Slope Inn

The Eastern Slope Inn is the best location to stay in North Conway, New Hampshire.

The ESI has two kinds of timeshare units. First are the old inn rooms, which are quaint but small. Second are the new carriage house units behind the inn, which are beautiful and BIG.

The inn has everything you could want:

1.Eastern Mountain Sports store
2.Video vending machine
3.GREAT brick-oven flatbread pizza place
4.Indoor swimming pool
5.Ice cream and coffee shop
6.Little theater in season
7.Walking distance to all sorts of restaurants and shops

Surprisingly, ESI often comes up as a "Bonus Extra Escape" in the spring and even summer. It's a bargain! It's a great place to stay if you want to take a stroll after dark, unlike the other ski resorts that are out in the middle of nowhere, or if you like to drink but don't want to drive home on a twisted mountain road, if you want to take the car but the wife wants to take herself shopping... really, you can't go wrong with the location.

The only complaint I've heard is that if kids run up and down the hallway in the inn, it can be kinda noisy, especially beneath them.

Best Things Nearby:
It's right in downtown. Walk to stores and restaurants. It's a short drive to outlet shopping and many ski/recreation areas.

Best Things About the Resort:
They have a helpful staff, an indoor pool with an outdoor hot tub, an adjacent restaurant/bar, and a coffee shop run by separate owners.

Resort Experience:
I was assigned a studio, no. 4A, in Randall House, which is one of many outbuildings on hotel grounds. There are multiple units, with a duplex entrance for up and down units. This unit was on the first floor and had one large room and a bath. There was a mini-kitchen with an electric stovetop, microwave, small refrigerator, dishwasher, coffeemaker, and toaster. The bath had a shower with a Jacuzzi tub and a hair dryer. There was a small storage/coat closet with an iron and ironing board. There were only two three-drawer dressers and a large TV with a VCR. You could sleep on a Murphy bed or pullout bed. It is only comfortable enough for two people.

Best Things Nearby:
The steam and Diesel train rides, and the outlet stores.

Best Things About the Resort:
NOT the rooms in the old main inn, and NOT the toilet in the new outbuilding which leaked for 2 days before getting fixed!

Resort Experience:
The Eastern Slope Inn, North Conway New Hampshire looks like a picture postcard and belies the fact that very little money has gone into maintaining it. Some "studios" are so small you can’t get the Murphy bed down, your luggage on the floor and yourselves in the room and let all things operate on the same plane!!!!!!!!

The next size up "studio" with Murphy bed (in wall) had a closet door that wouldn’t open because it was swollen shut with moisture—it needed to be planed down and we asked but got no reply.... even after 48 hours.

The proper studio with acceptable features had a toilet that had two leaks and was not fixed for over 50 hours–only after I found their sources and closely directed the Inn and the plumbers !!

The Inn has complimentary bikes, but they had flat tires and seats canted up so far only a Sumo wrestler that binds UP his loins could sit the man’s seat !! We filled the tires with air and I fixed the man’s seat, to stop getting too squinty-eyed riding the bike and walking funny after getting off the bike.

The Inn staff told us first that we would be charged $48, as a room cleaning fee out of the sticky door room to the leaking toilet room. Upon leaving they told us the fee was to upgrade from sticky to leaking!! Next time I go, I have the Forest Glenn Inn’s number, and although NOT Gold Crown, I’ll get excellent "Gemutlichtkeit."

More later when I settle down .

To come–my wife smashing her face on the main street , and the cops trying to put me in jail.

Yours from Canada,

Best Things About the Resort:
The unit was great.

Resort Experience:
The Unit is in the midst of North Conway's Business District. North Conway is a small, three street city.

The Unit was great but there is very little greenspace around the resort itself. No space to just sit outside.

Restaurants in the area offered great variety. The best special was the Wine and Roses Special at Harthstone Manor on Thursday night. It was a real pleasure and an economic fantasy. White Horse Tavern also offered an interesting meal choice. For a Bar type atmosphere Horsefeathers was OK but not what I was looking for.

Taking the time to explore waterfalls around the area was the highlight of our visit around North Conway. A trip to Ogunquit, Maine was worth while. I did not have enough time to try all of the Lobster choices available.
