Insufficient parking, bad room, very inconvenient for access!

There are approx. 26 rooms at this hotel and only 16 small spaces. Parking is a major problem in SF and the parking lot is totally insufficient for the guests. You may or may not find a parking spot when you return at night. The room was very small and smelled like smoke even though it was supposed to be non smoking. The heating/ac unit was extremely noisy and kept me awake most of the night. The walls are very thin and you can hear the other guests talking and making noise. The shower temp. control was impossible to get right and the temp kept changing. I almost got scalded while taking a shower. There is a very weak stream of water here that is totally unacceptable. I booked this room through travel website for 5 nights but there were so many negatives about this place we checked out the next morning. They also charge a 20.00 fee to your card even if you don't want to use the safe. The front desk told me it was taken care of but as of today the charge is still on my account. They did offer to switch rooms for us but there was no way I was going to stay another night at this Travelodge. Travelers beware!

Nice quiet and very polite service at Travelodge at Presidio

I like to stay near the Marina District when I visit San Francisco. This was my first stay at this hotel establishment and I was very pleased. The hotel staff was very courteous and polite, the rooms were very clean and well kept, and a very quiet atmosphere. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would like to thank the staff for making my stay so pleasant.

A bit too far off the beaten path

Hotel was as expected. Smallish room, but we didn't care, as we just used it to shower and sleep and... Very quiet. Transit system is excellent, though requiring transfers. Next time we'll stay closer to downtown, where the sites are. Upon arrival I asked how to get to 49er game on Sunday, the centerpiece of our trip. Said they'd get back to me next day (Thursday) but never saw that manager or the person who was supposed to get back to us for the rest of the stay in five nights total. Breakfast was simple but fine, and included in price. There was more than just oatmeal and danishes. There were three cereals too. Only saw decaf first two days then no more. Cover of bathroom fan was hanging down the entire stay. Sink water pressure was low, but toilet flushed like a demon. You could lose a child if not careful. We didn't bring one though. Shower was fine with plenty of hot water but no inside rails to hold onto if washing feet, etc, or for those older than us (51 and 52). Overall I'd give it 3 1/2 stars on a 1-5 scale.

Nice Budget Hotel

All was clean and the room seemed recently updated. Beds were great. However the heater in our room had problems and needed to be reset during the night twice. Woke up freezing! The free breakfast is not as nice as other hotels of this type - only instant oatmeal and costco style danishes. Great location though! On a quieter street and very central. I would recommend.

The quietest place in San Francisco

This is the quietest place I've every been in San Francisco. I work in the city for over 20 years and lived on Lombard. This motel was a wonderful surprise at the end of Lombard and the foot of the Presido. Convenient to restaurants, Muni and easy walking distance to the Exploratium and a nice walk to Fisherman's Wharf. If you want a nice quiet place to stay this is it. My only negatives -- the room was small, but clean, parking is limited, but IT'S FREE (well included in the price of the room). I will stay here again, and again. Any excuse to go to San Francisco and I'm there.
