Great place to stay

me and my 6 other girlfriends stayed here and it was WONDERFUL. We originally booked two rooms with double beds each and were upgraded FOR FREE to a 2 bedroom suite overlooking the beach and ocean, we were smack in the middle of the hotel with the absolute best view in the whole resort! Downtown Ft. Myers was literally walking distance, took about 7 to 10 minutes to walk and you could walk all the way into town via the beach which was beautiful! There was also a Trolley that picked up right in front of the hotel if you didn't want to walk, but we enjoyed burning all those extra calories each day. Our friend lives there in the winter, and he has a boat and Pink Shell was perfect because there was a public dock directly across the street that our friend could pick us up every day from, for boat rides! We couldn't have picked a better location and the price was right. The restaurant out by the pool (upstairs) had the most fantastic food and was very reasonably priced. The only complaint we had was the number of kids screaming at the pool, so we avoided the pool and headed straight for the beach!

A disappointment

We chose a hot tub one bedroom suite which was very roomy however the shower had no water pressure. The jacuzzi was for one person so it was not even used. The door would not close and lock on its own so you had to make sure you pulled it closed when you left the room. The hotel was called a resort but with the exception of the spa it was far from a resort. It's about a mile to the action and all the shops. This place is way over priced for what you get. The front desk was knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting places to eat. Would definately not stay here again there are much nicer places for the money.

My husband and I needed to get away , just the 2 of us , and I made all of our arrangements through Travel agency . Upon our arrival at the Pink Shell Beach Resort , we had originally planned on being in a studio room , but to our surprise when we got there , they had UPGRADED us to a 2 bedroom , condo !!! The resort itself is AWESOME , the pool area is beautiful !! And we have NEVER been to a beach as clean as this was . Amazing to see them out there every morning combing the beach . We would go back the the Pink Shell in a HEARTBEAT !!! ( in fact , we did not want to come home ) I have never seen such beautiful sunsets . Also , JoJo's restaurant has the best Grilled Lemongrass Chicken I have ever had !!My husband and I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND the Pink Shell Beach Resort , which is couple and family oriented .

Not as nice as I expected

The accomodations were large, which was great. However, the front desk staff was not friendly or helpful. They boast about family activities, but they make it difficult to find out what they are. The room wasn't very clean and had ants. The first day the bathtub was plugged and they had to come and drain it. The workers made a mess and didn't bother to clean up after themselves. There was trash already in the room when we checked in, but housekeeping was awesome the first night and things got better after that. The good news, our screened in balcony faced the beach and you could hear the surf as well as the dolphins. The beach is awesome here, and the pool was nice, too. There are rentals for boats, jetskis, parasailing, etc. nearby. Expect to pay extra for things like beach chairs, floats, etc. The restaurant poolside has decent food, and the room came with a kitchen.
