PETS NOT ALLOWED!!!!!!

This hotel and its staff are terrible!!!!!!!! I checked into this hotel with my pet when I was evacuated from Houston because of hurricane Ike. I was checked in for a full day with out incident or problem - it was only after they discovered that I had my 10 lbs. dog with me that they informed me that pets were not allowed.
I was then told by hotel staff that my dog and I could stay but ONLY if I paid them a nonrefundable $10.00 per day fee. A deposit I thought was acceptable and I was willing to pay the deposit ? however a nonrefundable additional fee that was NOT listed on the online travel website was NOT acceptable.
The manager of the hotel was VERY RUDE!!! And I feel as though he wanted to make a few extra bucks off of hurricane victims by charging this additional fee.
THANKFULLY - my online travel website offered me a refund and reminded me why I use them and ONLY them to book my travel reservations.

The cost is economical for a night stay. Due to the worn condition of the hotel, I would not recommend it for a prolonged stay. The staff was very friendly and the rooms, though worn, were clean. I had requested a non-smoking room, but was issued a smoking room (could smell stale smoke). Due to the full capacity, I did not request a change. I believe that had they had the availability the staff would have switched with no problem.

The staff were extremely helpful and the room was clean. The property may be new to Super 8 but it's obviously many years old - with cigarette burns on the counter and a poorly patched carpet. The adjacent 24-hour gas/convenience store was handy - but also a noisy Saturday night party place. OK for the price.
NICE!

The hotel had nice staff and was actually a decent room. It was really easy to get to and the location was perfect for us because its not far from Six Flags! Our door didn't shut very good and it was a lot of trouble to open the door at times. The noise is a big complaint of mine. Some of the guest were real rude they would talk outside my door at all hrs of the night and early morining hrs. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I would stay again.
