PARADISE!

My husband and I made a last minute to change our vacation and found the Aura about 5 days before we were to take off. IT WAS THE BEST DECISION! The food was excellent. We even took pictures of the presentation. My husband had filet mignon and shrimp almost every night. We ate once on the family side and once at a restaurant off the property and neither were impressive. Stick to the Aura food. The staff was extremely friendly. We even knew most of them by name by the end of the week. My only complaint is the lack of insulation in the common doors in the adjoining rooms. There was another couple in the room next to us that fought for about three nights straight. Nevertheless, it was the most relaxing time I think I have ever experienced. I was hesitant to write a review because I did not want it to become too popular but I decided that others needed to know what a great place this is!

Everything I would expect from Wyndham

Quick check-in, room first class, service as expected. The resort is absolutely paradise, from the mother-of-pearl pool to the lazy river infinity pool. No fighting for towels or chairs - they are wood lounges with 5" cushions, reservations for meals not necessary. Waiters constantly circling the pool and beach to make your stay heaven. Top shelf liquor, and food to match the most exclusive restaurants in Houston or New York. Anything is possible, as I was told frequently during my stay. Great for teens and those that just want to get away and be pampered. Great spa too! Will go back next year - why go anywhere else.

Being from New York city all we really wanted was the beautiful sound and view of the Caribbean sea and Aura can well deliver on that. Unfortunately, they decided to let the general manager of a sister resort to get married on one of the nights that we were there. Loud, very loud DJ music blasted the air from the afternoon well into the small hours of the morning. NOT AT ALL WHAT YOU EXPECT ON YOUR CARIBBEAN VACATION, and a bad value for your money if you consider one night out of 3 you're forced to listen to a blasting DJ music. Don't get me wrong, although, it is not a 5 star hotel, if not for the music incident I loved it. I would have given it 6 stars if I could as an all inclusive resort. With the exception of the cocktail quality compared to other resorts, everything here is far superior than any other places I've been to. The cocktail quality is an easy fix and should be fixed. Staff is great, as well as outstanding food, room, view and beach. TIp: Make sure no general manager is getting married Enjoy

I have traveled all over the world but never to Mexico. Therefore I based my decision on the reviews that I have read about the Aura Wyndham in Cozumel. My wife and I where very pleasantly surprised how wonderful everythig was. We got upgraded from a 2nd floor suite to a swim up room which I highly recommend. The whole setting was beautiful with attention to details. The staff was excellent and very attentive. However, this hotel was supposed to be Adults only, but many people had kids and teens of all ages with them. It was not a problem from a noise standpoint, but it ahould be as advertised. Also, MANY people got upgraded from the Wyndham Sabor next door to the Aura at no charge, but not to the point to where the Aura was crowded. The food was great. dive boats docked right at the pier on the beach, the whole propoerty was very clean and neat and the people wonderful. We could not have had a better vacation.
