Good Price, Good Location

We booked thru Expedia and got the flight from LAX to SYD and 6 nights at this hotel for $1000 (US) What a deal! We added extra nights for only $88(AU)

The hotel was recently refurbished and the staff very accommodating. The room was ample with twin bed, table and chairs and a mini kitchen. We loved the electric kettle and assortment of tea/coffee in the morning. We did get discount vouchers for $12(AU) for the hot/cold buffet breakfast for 2 days...pretty good bargain. The internet was $2 for 20 minutes but ample time for me. I liked the location from Museum Station and/or bus stops nearer. The free CBD shuttle was great to great around on too.

Travelodge Sydney

Travelodge Sydney is clean, with very basic rooms containing a mini fridge, microwave, hair dryer, electric kettle, small round table and chairs in the corner, and shower. The closest ice machine was on another floor, and no ice bucket was provided -- just a couple of glasses to discourage waste of the ice. We got a walk-in rate of AUD 130 after we booked the wrong arrival date at another hotel up the street, which was helpful and friendly in helping us find this accommodation.

Check-out time is 10am; we asked for a late noon check-out but were informed the night before that late check-out wouldn't be accommodated. The lobby was very crowded and busy the next morning for checkout. There must have been a busload of people dropped off for check-in.

Best Things About the Resort:

Resort Experience:
As a treat for my daughter’s 9th birthday, she and I spent the weekend in Sydney staying at the Travel Lodge on Wentworth Avenue. The hotel was handy to Chinatown and Darling Harbour (my daughter has short legs - getting shorter the further she has to walk!) and just up the road from bus stops to anywhere else.

We did the zoo to death and on returning to Circular Quay collapsed at one of the many harbourside restaurants in Darling Harbour for a well-earned coffee (me) and fish and chips for the short-legged one. The hotel room was basic but comfortable, with our own en-suite. There was a restaurant downstairs that served a buffet hot and cold breakfast and dinner at very reasonable prices. I would highly recommend staying here for a short stay in Sydney.
