A WIMP WILL FEEL LIKE A QUEEN HERE

While we wanted to try the hotel for the "name," we were pleasently surprised by the quality of the room. The price is reasonable compared to comparable business-related hotels in the Washington area. Good location for Kennedy Center area attractions, but a far distance from the US Capitol building area. We will go back when the rennovation is complete. One thing, the bed's pillows were over stuffed, and must have weighed 10 pounds each. You might want to pack your favorite from home.

The Watergate will close on July 31, 2007 for 18 months of renovations. Great value with elegant service and large, classy rooms. Be sure to ask for a river view. Front desk can be very slow to pick up the phone. Location is great for river area and ok for rest of the city. 10-15 min walk to Metro station, 20-30 min walk to Dupont Circle. Valet parking "$* per day. Note also that this is no longer a Swissotel.

As seasoned travelers we were very pleasantly surprised at the overall presentation. Perfect, perfect tourist location as we walked to nearly all sightseeing. Five minutes to Kennedy Center, Lincoln Memorial; 10 minutes to Georgetown. Previous reviews mention rooms needing upgrade but this apparently is complete. Beautifully appointed and HUGE rooms! Very exceptional value for your $. Would recommend to any discerning traveler.

My wife and I tried the hotel because of the "name" and the great Saturday night rate. Even a wimp would love the nice room. Very quiet. The front desk accomodated our request for early (10:00am) check-in. Great location. Did not try restaurant. Close to metro subway.
