Nice Getaway Spot

While we didn't spend a great deal of time at the hotel (being in Vegas and all), we found it to be a really wonderful place to come back to and rest. The room wasquiet, very nicely decorated and clean, the bed was really comfortable, and the staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant. We really appreciated the market on the first floor because it had a little bit of everything and it was open late which was great after walking all over the strip! The only travel tip I can add for staying here is that remember if you are planning to walk from MGM back to this Hilton, it's further down that it looks! (I highly recommend the Deuce instead!)

Great value, Beautiful hotel

This hotel gave us the ability to relax and escape the madness of vegas. The pool is amazing and the staff were some of the best we have seen at a resort hotel. Extremely responsive to our needs. The hotel does not have a full resturant, but the cafe provides all the essentials and we actually cooked out at the pool side grills. Short walk to the monorail and a 10 minute walk to the mall. So everything on the strip was accessable. Would highly recommend this hotel and would look to stay at other Hilton Grand Vacation Resorts.

Great Place to Stay and I'll tell you Why

My husband and I have been to Vegas many times but this is the first time we ever stayed at the GVC Hilton and we loved it. Here is why. Yes it is true that you are further north of the strip but that’s what makes it so nice. We've stayed in the big hotels which are very hectic...fun but hectic. This place allows you to come home to peace and relaxation after a fun day on the strip.

Before we decided to stay here we read so many reviews and the negative ones I can honesty say all turned out not to be true. Is it inconvenient to travel from the GVC to any of hotels? No. You have many options. Walking, Taxi Cab or the Duce which stops right in front of the place. For $5 you can buy an all-day pass. The only thing you must remember is as everywhere else in the world, busses don't run on strict schedules and can be delayed by traffic. So if you are not in a rush to get anywhere (a show, etc) then the bus works just fine. Even if you are going to dinner and have a specific reservation, just give yourself a few extra minutes. The tram which takes exactly 8 minutes to walk to (we clocked it) is another great way to travel. And all you have to do is go across the street to the Sahara Hotel and you get the tram right inside of there. Another great advantage to this resort is you can go down the street to Sahara Blvd, get on a duce and in five minutes you are at two major grocery stores. We shopped at Alberts, took a cab back for $10.00 and had our groceries, beer and liquor for the week at a great price.

Now for the hotel. It was clean, the staff was great, the room in tower two was perfect and had a nice view. It was a one bedroom unit and it was brand new and clean as could be with a great big king size bed, a big tub in the bedroom, flat panel TVs and a Boise stereo system. Great bathroom, big shower and plenty of towels. Kitchen had marble counter tops and was brand new. If you plan on cooking it could have been a bit more stocked, but if you need something ask housekeeping and it’s yours. Every morning a USA Today newspaper was at our door...we even had a doorbell...ah all the comforts of home. As someone else mentioned there is also a CVS next door if you don't want to go to Alberts and there too you can get your supplies. More expensive but still convenient. Now as far as the construction is concerned, which really made us nervous when reading all the reviews....keep in mind, there is construction everywhere on the strip and I would have to say there is no hotel you could stay at in Vegas today that doesn’t have construction going on within a 1/4 mile or less. Even the Wynn has a tower going up right next door to the original. Does it make a difference...no not at all. We even sat outside by the pool (which was also beautiful...there are two Jacuzzis.) and the construction made no difference. The only people I would imagine that wouldn't like this hotel are the ones who like to wake up at 3:00am or around that time and even before brushing their teeth are sitting behind a table or slot machine. For that you would have to walk across the street.

I find it odd that this hotel could get negative reviews for its location, its service, or the local construction. It’s Vegas and it was great! Would stay again tomorrow! Hope this helps everyone.

Not my first choice.

This hotel has NO restaurant. It does have a 24 hr mini-grocery with a coffee shop/deli, but if your expecting a sit-down meal (especially breakfast for me), that can't happen here, unless you want to eat a breakfast sandwich and sit at a tiny table in the hallway like a refugee. Hotels this size AND this stature need a restaurant. Thank goodness we had a rental car, because this hotel is far enough away from the main strip that getting up in the AM and walking to eat would not have been fun. The other problem was the bed. It was really poor quality and the bedding was horrific. It reminded me of a stay at some cheap road-side motor lodge in that regard. This hotel was really not in a great location for Vegas. Now, we had a car, so in a way it didn't matter to us that much, but I would have been most displeased had I stayed here and was forced to either walk or cab it everywhere. Certainly the location is something most people would be aware of when they book, but I think it's worth pointing out because of their lack of a restaurant, which makes it more critical of an issue. I've stayed at Hiltons all over the world and this has got to be the worst one I've stayed at. It wasn't completely terrible, no but I think for the money there are far better choices in Vegas...

My perspective

This hotel was wonderful, helpful staff, clean but they need to invest in new matresses as the bed was not very comfortable.
