My girlfriend and i made the trip out to Cambria for the weekend not having anyidea about the town or what there was to do. When we arrived i was greated by a very friendly man who gave me a map of the town and circled all his favorite eating spots. Also informed me about the Elephant Seals, and Hearst Castle both just a short drive away. My first room wasn't to exciting, but the wonderfully genuwine staff approached me with the option of upgrating to the King size bed room witht a flat screen tv. we had a wonderful view of the hills and a creek from our baclony. I would stay there again 100% i was shocked to read any negative reviews the family ran (Husband and Wife) inn was exactly what my girlfriend and i needed to get away from the stress of everyday life!!!! Thanks again, see you soon

You can do better than to stay here!

This hotel is vastly overpriced for its offerings. The carpets were stained, the "view" was of a small yard of dried-up grass on one side or the road on the other, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, lumpy, and creaky, the walls were thin (we could hear coughing on one side and conversation on the other), and the customers here are not granted such pricey items as bottles of lotion or shampoo. (If you are into flat-screen TVs, however, you are in luck.)
But worst of all was the management--I have never had such rude treatment from anyone in the service industry. I have read the other reviews posted here with wonder and amazement, and I can only surmise that they have either mixed up this awful establishment with another Creekside Inn, or that the manager and his wife were away for these other visitors' stays. If we had not been traveling with children who needed to sleep we would have left this place and gone elsewhere. (A disturbing conversation with the manager leads me to suspect at least some of the positive reviews here were posted by the manager.)
We felt misled by the positive reviews posted here; we can find no redeeming qualities to this establishment, and would suggest staying elsewhere in Cambria or traveling further down Highway 1 to another town rather than staying in the Creekside Inn.
