Honeymoon Getaway

My husband and I honeymooned here. The room was clean and well stocked with the necessaties in the kitchen and bathroom. We did not spend a large amount of time in the room as most of it was spent in Hollywood, LA and Beverly Hills. If you want to visit the LA area, you'd be better off staying closer to LA. If you want the option of going to either San Diego or LA then San Clemente was a good place to stay. My mom made the reservations as a wedding gift but made it under my married name, not my maiden name. Since we only got married the day before we got there, obviously my name hadn't been changed on anything yet. They asked me for ID but would not accept my license because the name was different. I tried to explain that I just got married the day before but he didn't want to hear about it. I needed something with my new name on it which of course I didn't have. My husband finally showed his license and they took that because the last names matched. The walls were rather thin so you could hear people talking in other rooms. The room above ours had small children who liked to wake up early and ran around, stamping their feet and screamed and yelled. Fortunately they checked out only a few days after we got there so we didn't have to deal with them the whole week. We didn't eat at the restaurants in the area but there were nice beaches nearby to visit. Overall it was a great trip and so beautiful. The grounds there were well maintained and manicured.
Not a good nights sleep

The 2 bedroom with the murphy beds was hot. The air cannot get to the bedroom with the a/c in the living room behind the bed ! pillow cases left our faces raw and beds were hard. Did not smell nice. and when I told the staff in the a.m all he could say was I am sorry ! I will not stay there again.
Quick Trip to San Clemente

Even though we're just an hour south, we stay here every year for a bodysurfing contest held at the pier. This place is not new but very well maintained and is walking distance from San Clemente State Beach. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are very comfortable and even more important, very quiet. They all have very nice patios that overlook the greenbelt adjoining San Clemente State Beach. A real bargain for the price. The only thing I would suggest to them is get a better cable television system in there.

I have never met a more rude staff from the manager to the housekeeping. Towels are rough almost like a loofa sponge.

The amenities, including tennis court, Jacuzzis, pool tables, free high-speed Internet in the lobby, weight room, outdoor pool, and various day trips (Mexico, Wine Country, San Diego, and more). Also the weekly activities like free ice-cream social, movie night, mixer, and more!
Resort Experience:
Very friendly staff, open 24 hours a day. Kids LOVE this place, as there are so many things to do on the property. There are also many great restaurants nearby. MY favorite is Adele's Cafe, Fisherman's at the pier, Carbonara's Italian Restaurant, and the Beach Fire (great food and music).
