Great customer service!

Our room was huge and clean. The customer service here was the best I have ever had, I actually got a requested extra pillow in under a minute. Parking is horrible, and you have to drive to eat but it is close to the freeway so no big deal.

Not Good!

We paid one of the highest rates around for this room so we thought it would be a nice place, but it was far from that. The first room they gave us had water stains and mold on the ceiling. The comforter was torn, and the room was rodent infested. We complained to management and they moved us to another room. This room was worse than the other room. This room was also rodent infested. The shower was not cleaned, it had hair in the shower. It was obvious to us that this hotel did not promote sanitary conditions for its guests. When we complained to management they blamed these conditions on other guests. On the first night that we had all theses problems we asked if we could check out and management informed us that they would still charge us for the entire stay. So we were forced to endure these conditions with no compensations. When we went to check out there was another guest complaining about issues he had with his stay. We strongly encourage you to find another hotel to stay at. I did call Best Western and they informed me that since these hotel chains are individually owned that all they can do for me is to let the hotel know we made a complaint and that there is really nothing they can do to help us. We are normally very understanding people and realize that things happen, but it was obvious to us that this hotel did not care about its guest or resolving issues in a professional manner.

An inexpensive close alternative to beach hotels

Had a slight problem at check-in, but the desk clerk resolved the problem very well. Were upgraded to a suite and had a huge room. The cleaning staff was somewhat rude in the mornings as they would not move their carts out of the crowded, narrow walkways and we were forced to manuever around them and wait while they monopolized the elevators. The breakfast was better than most, and I would recommend it. The grounds were not well taken care of, and the pool was in the middle of the parking lot without much privacy at all. The area around the motel had a closed strip mall and was not the best of scenery, however, for the money and proximity to the beaches and other things, it was worth it. We use the motel as a place to crash after a long day, and this fit the bill. Due to the desk clerk's assistance in fixing our problem, I would stay here again without a second thoght.

Not good experience

Just upon arriving my kids found a roach in the bathtub. Then my wife found shoe prints in the sheet of one bed and a big round yellow stain in the other bed's sheet, and this happened in the first 15 minutes after arriving so we had a very bad experience staying here. My wife had to go get sheet replacements after waiting for 15 minutes for somebody to bring them.

Nearby 5 freeway before SD. Area near hotel boarded up/close, need to go to SD to eat. 1st rm had ants, but moved to another room quick. Nearby Sea World/Old Town and 8 freeway. Good A/C during summer.
