The service was very friendly, but the facility was somewhat in disrepair. They were working on some rooms to make improvements, but our room had closet doors that were difficult to operate, the toilet moved when sat upon, the tub was stained and the bathroom was small. On the plus side the view was wonderful and the bed, although only a Queen, was comfortable.

We just had a gathering of about 35 people from all over the US and Australia. Author Sue Grafton wrote a book that took place in Avila Beach and she actually joined us for the event. The owners and staff of Avila Inn were extraordinary! They were wonderful and went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. We were very disappointed with the Old Custom House restaurant and would not recommend it to anybody. But the owners/staff at Avila Inn more than made up for that and we had a wonderful stay. I highly recommend this hotel.
