Staff was phenomenal. Upgraded to corner view room - incredible view. Convenient to everything. Even my skeptic wife was sold and wants to return.

Outstanding! I could not have asked for better accommodations! The view of the beach was awesome and it was just a step across the street to the beach. Service was excellent. I would definitely stay there again - front tower with premium ocean view.

Marriott Waikiki is outstanding!

I'm sad to say that I'm back on the mainland; however, I'm glad to report a FANTASTIC stay at the Marriott Waikiki Resort. Check-in/out: 6/7-14/2009 Self + wife 16th floor 'K' tower, king bed; daughters (24/19) in separate room, two queen beds. We rented a car for one (1) day to travel to Oahu's North Shore. Otherwise, we utilized the VERY convenient shuttles or walked. This is a very nice property and I'm glad to endorse it and its staff!

I wish I'd stayed longer on Oahu

Lovely Place. First time to Oahu with my girlfriend. Location is closer to Diamond head, may be a long walk from the more popular activities, especially after a full meal near Ala Moana. My problem was I booked a partial view with a king bed. They overbooked Partial View/ King and tried to offer me a Partial View room with Double Beds. I refused and they offered me a King in a Full Ocean View for a charge of an extra $/night. We negotiated to $/night but this would have turned my value vacation into an extravagance. After about twenty minutes of more negotiating and talking with her manager, whom I did not meet, she offered to move other reservations around it worked out for me but I feel bad for who they moved around. My actual room was very nicely appointed and spacious. The beach directly across the street is great for laying out in the sun and right next to several surf beaches. The hospitality was great, I couldn't have asked for more. Even after I checked out they OFFERED to keep my bags secure and the use of their hospitality room. They even refrigerated my pie while we explored the island on our last day. I required the use of a car during our trip and found an inexpensive garage across the street $/day compared to the Marriott's $/day. Their concierge has detailed maps for activities and they offer local papers for patrons. They also have a flight check in/out station that will print your boarding passes. The hotel is wonderful I just wished the location was more central to the nightlife, however I didn't mind walking 20+ minutes toward Ala Moana. Some may.

Wonderful Experience & Great Snorkeling

My husband and I just returned from an amazing 10 day stay at the Marriott Waikiki Beach Resort. We were a little uncertain about staying on Waikiki Beach because we usually prefer quiet/private beaches when we go on vacation. This resort was in the best location because it was on the quiet end of the strip. We stayed in the K tower in a premium ocean view on the 24th floor and heard no street/bar noise at night as long as our door was closed. For a little more peace and quiet walk to the beach in the direction towards Diamond Head. This was where the great snorkeling was & where a monk seal beached himself almost daily. For those who don't like to snorkel you could get a great view of all the fish from the stone pier (the one towards Diamond Head & not far from the zoo). A few locals feed the fish & eels on that pier every morning. We did hear that the surf is higher on Waikiki Beach during the summer months so depending when you stay may impact how good the snorkeling is off the beach. We also took a trip to Hanauma Bay which has some of the best snorkeling we've seen. Take a walk down the main strip of Waikiki Beach at night if you want to see some amazing street performers (especially on the weekend). We also rented a car for the day and drove up to the North Shore and went around the entire Island. We hit 5 beaches in one day. Our favorites were Waimea Bay and Lanikai Beach. We also ate at a place called Buzzs Original Steak House in Kailua. It looks like a dive but the steak & seafood are the best.
