My Stay at the downtown Atlanta Hilton

I stayed 4 days at the downtown Atlanta Hilton with my 14 year old granddaughter. We were there for a church convention. From the time that we checked in at the front desk to the time when we checked out we were made to feel most welcome. We were helped and assisted by the most courteous staff persons I have ever encountered. From the front desk to the parking attendants every one we met was helpful and so personable. They had all the answers to all of our questions. From what was wrong with the steam iron ( which they quickly replaced) to how to find and ride the subway trains to and from our meetings. The staff was just great. The pool was most refreshing. The food was delicious and service was awesome. We definitely will make reservations there again next year.

Not So Great

We stayed here for our cousins' wedding and were disappointed with this hotel. Despite the price they charge, they do not provide any sort of continental breakfast, nor internet, and did not even have decent TV channels. However, if you are looking for a place with fancy faucets, flat screen TV, and lots of pillows, this might be the place for you. The hotel was clean and it is in a good location; walking distance to many attractions.

I found this hotel to be quite nice. It's located nicely in downtown and within reasonable walking distance to all the major downtown attractions. Even thought the hotel is undergoing renovations at this time, I found everything to be in nice conditon and the renovations caused no distractions or inconviencies. The staff were always professional and answered any and all questions I had. I inquired about directions, safety, nearby eating establishments and travel options, and they were always quick honest answers presented with a smile and in a sincere and caring manner. I did not use the hotel dining options, but did use the lounge and the service was excellent and courteous. The dining facilities appeared to be well staffed and clean. I thought the rooms were neat, clean, well maintained and very reasonably priced. Overall, my three night stay at this establishment was quite enjoyable, and if I venture to Atlanta again, I would definitely stay there again.

Would Stay Again

Came to Atlanta for business, and to see the Aquarium. I got the aquarium package, and requested an early check in. When I arrived for the "zip check in" the tickets and breakfast pass were "not available" yet, which was contradictory of the zip check in option that I had requested. I had also requested to arrive early, and that was not paid attention to. One trip over to the concierge station settled that, they handled the error quickly and respectfully. Enjoyed the rest of our visit.

Average Place Nothing Special

This was my third time staying at The Hilton, not by choice but by company policy. The hotel is in need of updating, the entrance hall is rather drab and the front desk is about 50 meters away from the front door. I was given a room on the executive floor, it was a good size but the furniture needs to be upgraded. Washroom was rather small compared to the rest of the room. The hotel does have a gym which they charge a fee, although with my Hilton membership I get in for free. It's not worth paying for. There is a lobby cafe that is open 24hrs. it sells sandwiches, wraps, salads, fruit it's a great amenity but the stuff is way over-priced. They charged me $1.00 for a banana. The hotel does have a full-service restaurant which I tried for Sunday brunch, it has a fantastic selection of food and live entertainment, the day I was there they had a lady playing the harp. The staff at the restaurant are the friendliest of the entire hotel. Location wise it's OK, the area is deserted after 6p. I did not feel safe enough to walk alone at night. The hotel does have security but they are useless, especially considering during my last stay, there were three people shot in their room, who later died. For dinner their are no restaurants within walking distance unless you are want a 24hr. pancake house. For lunch you can cross the street and try some of the restaurants in the food hall under the office buildings. They have everything from sit down full service to fast food take out. Something for everyone on any budget. The hotel always seems to be busy with youth conventions, so expect lots of noise, again security is useless.
