A great value for Hotel class and Quality

I read many revues of this property prior to my two day visit and realized how critical people can be. This Hotel as has already be said is far from others much more expensive than this one. You want Hilton, find it. But for the price we paid, it met our needs and expectations nicely. The property was clean and well managed. The staff was very nice, no one was rude. Although we spent little time in the room what time we were there was most enjoyable. Check in and out was smoothe, the morning quick breakfast was packaged sweet rolls and coffee, you want Dennys, its five minutes away. Even though the property is almost thirty years old the folks are doing fine maintaining it. The main corridor reminds me of walking through a cave but don't let this annoy you. There is no cruise transpotation available other than a taxi or car rental. We will consider this property should we cruise another time from Tampa. Only one mile from the airport, its a property worth considering. One final note, I agree with some who have said this is not a resort....it is a condo atmosphere

Would stay again

Check-in was quick and easy. Actually got into room 4 hours early. Nice view of the bay. The only problem I had was the silverware and dishes had to be hand cleaned before use. Seemed to have old grease or something on them. Other than that no problems with my stay. I will stay again if I need to visit the Tampa area again.

Don't waste your time

We just got back from staying here and it will be my last. The place was filthy. We had a two bedroom suite. From the moment we walked in, we were hit with a disgusting odor. We finally traced it to the kitchen sink. The countertops had bugs crawling over it. The kitchen floor was grossly sticky. The housekeeping was extremely slack. The sofa sleeper was in terrible shape and we were hesitant to use it. The closet door fell off it's track when we tried to open it. The entire place needs an overhaul. It's old, dingy, dirty and not at all clean. The rugs were black, the furniture in poor shape. The pool was tiny and disappointing. On a positive note, the location was good with all views to the water. We had to keep our windows open most of the time because of the smell, so the water view was refreshingly pleasant. Would I stay again? No. We purposely tried to be out of our room as much as possible and were depressed when we had to return to it. That's not my idea of a vacation! I booked at this hotel because of the two bedroom suite. With two teenagers traveling with us, the second bedroom was a must. In retrospect, I should have just stuck with my original plan of getting two regular motel rooms. We thought we might use the kitchen facilities, but they were so disgusting that we opted not to. So, a suite wouldn't have been necessary after all. I'd sacrifice the room in a suite for cleanliness. Even my teenage boys were disgusted!!!!

Sailport Hotel - Tampa

I was very impressed with our stay at Sailport Waterfront Suites. Check-in was quick and easy. When we first opened the door to our room, the first thing we said was "This is big". Once we made our way to the balcony and opened the blinds, we saw a picture-perfect view of Old Tampa Bay. The swimming pool water temperature was pleasantly warm, there was no irritating noise/loud talking day or night, kitchen appliances were satisfactory as well. The front office has internet access with free printing, and we never had to wait more than five minutes to use the computer. Sailport also offers a free shuttle to the airport. The only things i can nit-pick about was that although they have free wireless internet access in the rooms, the front desk only had 15 wireless setup kits for those who need one. And all 15 were already taken. Also, there was no TV channel listing for the stations that you find in other hotels. But that wasnt that big of a deal. Overall I give Sailport 9.5/10. I would stay here again on my next trip to Tampa.

Nice stay

Not what we expected but very pleased. Facility appears to be similar to time-share, condo, extended stay etc. with some rooms available for short-term stays. No lobby to speak of but small office on 2nd floor. To-die-for view of bay - Spectacular sunsets, private, quiet. Lovely pool. Nice directions from office to local restaurants, shopping, attractions, etc. VERY quiet, nice staff, very courteous and helpful. Probably better for singles or couples as no play areas or activities specifically for children. Would definitely stay again!
