Hidden treasure

The location is great. It is far enough away to avoid crowds but close enough to walk a couple blocks and be right in the middle of the action. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and responsible. We had an oceanview room and it was perfect. The lani is small meaning two of us could sit on it with a tiny room to spare. The pool/jacuzzi area is accessed from the the 10th floor. It is outside. The pool area is peaceful and convenient and there is a bar. There was a little construction going on up there but no problems. The lobby has a bar and a wonderful sitting area that has a constant breeze. The hotel is situated at a perfect spot on Kuhio Avenue. Our family enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay there again. The value of our stay was very fair.

Excellent hotel - just not on beach

My husband and I just returned from a 12 day stay at this hotel and cannot give anything but high marks to this hotel. The only improvements it could make would be to the room size for the accessible rooms (my husband is a quadriplegic), as bigger is always better in this regard, but it was certainly of an acceptible size. Our 12th floor room faced the ocean, 2 blocks away. We live in a quiet neighbourhood and found the street noise below annoying, but this is certainly no fault of the hotel. All staff at the hotel were incredible - helpful, polite and extremely friendly, making each day of our holiday feel very cheery. The front desk staff would be looking towards us and smiling before we ever reached them. The valet service people were extremely helpful and went out of their way many times to lend a helping hand. Although there is only one restaurant, we ordered a variety of meals and found everything very tasty, and based on this, fairly priced. We treated ourselves to blueberry/banana smoothies daily - they were consistently delicious every time we ordered them. We usually stay at waterfront hotels, and I did miss having a pool right on the beach, but the pool and deck on the 10th floor was very nice and clean, with comfortable deck chairs, some with shade coverings on them. A very friendly bartender served both snacks, alcoholic and non-alcohic drinks, again with impeccable service. My husband and I travel frequently and I am writing this review because this hotel provided the best overall service and accommodation we have ever encountered - and I am comparing them to overwater bungalows/staff/service in Moorea.

Nice stay in April

I'm a Hilton Honors member and have stayed in a lot of Hiltons. We had an excellent room on the 34th floor with a great view of Waikiki. The room service was good, but very pricey, not a great value. They charged $20 a day for parking, which I could have done without. But the room was very nice, with a flatscreen TV and modern furniture and amenities. The pool was really nice and the business center did the trick for me. The lobby is really nice and the restaurant is a good one. All in all, a very nice hotel, near all the action, shopping and beaches.
