Hotel was great! Great area of town as well and close to the metro and eating. The hotel lacks storage space for clothes in the room, but that was the only negative. Lush landscaping really was a plus. I would definetly stay there again.

We stayed at the Shoreham over the July 4th holiday. Because we secured the room for a reasonable price by prepaying for it, we didn't expect the quality we encountered. The hotel is elegant and beautifully maintained. The service was good and the front desk very courteous. The pool area more than met our expectations. All in all, we had a wonderful time. One problem was due to housekeeping. We asked for a turn down and came back to find our door left open. Housekeeping blamed a "trainee". Eventually we were able to talk to a manager. It was difficult to find a person of this level.

Really liked this hotel. Awesome gym, nice pool. Good location, really close to the Metro and Bus stop. Good food around. And it is nice because you are not too far, not too close. Nice room. Room service food not that great, just a regular sandwich and I expected a little more. But overall a positive experience and would use this same hotel again.

Omni is great

Our reservation was smooth and courteous from the moment we arrived at the Omni. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. We loved our room: big, high-ceilings, nice view of the resort grounds and with a great bathroom. From the robes in the closet to the thick, plentiful towels, the pool to the hot tub, we liked everything about it. The in-house dining is on the expensive side, but there is a great, reasonably priced place right across the street that has wonderful food, including all-day breakfast. The worst part of our stay was the moment when we had to leave.

Lovely hotel for families or business

Our family of 4 (2 kids, ages 4 and 7) enjoyed one night at the hotel in April 2009. The amenities and customer service was top notch. We did a special "zoo" package rate which was $30 more than the lowest rated room for a weeknight. The package included free valet parking for length of stay (worth $30), goody bags for the kids, complimentary breakfast buffet for 2 adults and 2 kids (worth well over $50) plus an additional goodie bag for parents that included more things for the kids (disposable camera, stuffed bear, scavenger hunt at zoo info, etc. As a previous reviewer mentioned, soon after check in milk and cookies were delivered to the room--a fabulous over-the-top gesture that endeared the hotel to us forever! The kids were crazy about the beautiful pool (depth is no greater than 3.5 feet at its deepest, and the gym was well equipped and very clean. The pool is free but gym fees apply. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and included numerous hot dishes as well as fruit, bagels, lox, cheese and salamis, cereal, yogurt, bacon, sausage, etc. etc. etc. There were many business guests, but we felt welcome as a family, and anyone seeking a fine hotel at very fair prices will love this one. The metro stop is close by and it's a short ride to the major sights.
