great place to stay if you don't need to park

  • 5 out of 5 stars A traveler from Travelocity.com

Quote: One thing I would try to improve upon, would be the valet parking. I am not sure if they were short drivers or too many guests parking valet but we had to pay to park in a lot over from hotel. Two reasons....we did not have time to wait on getting... Read the full Marriott Memphis Downtown review

Pleasant stay with a few minor hiccups

  • 4 out of 5 stars A traveler from Travelocity.com
  • February 16, 2011
Quote: Travelocity beat everyone's online price by $40 for this hotel. I read reviews beforehand so I knew to ask for an even-numbered room ("city view" as opposed to "river view") on the 12th floor or above (newer renovations and better view). The view... Great location and staff

  • 4 out of 5 stars A traveler from Travelocity.com
  • February 7, 2011
Quote: The location of this hotel was convienent to all parts of the downtown area and easy to navigate on to major highways. The free shuttle was handy for local jaunts but unfortunately, it did not go to/from DFW Airport. The staff was friendly,... Read the full Marriott Memphis Downtown review

This hotel was beautiful. On the trolley line close to Beale Street. Parking cost 18.00 a day to self park and 20.00 a day to valet park

Quote: Beautiful hotel. Glad I went thru travolocity. Hotel and fligth was good. There was a convention going on for auditions with hundreds of kids. So we did not get to enjoy the Hotel to busy. The doormen were excellent. My son drove us from the airport... Read the full Marriott Memphis Downtown review

Problem W/Room

  • 5 out of 5 stars A traveler from Travelocity.com
  • February 3, 2011
Quote: The first room I had there was a used condom under the bed. That was so weird and nasty. When I went down to the front desk to let them know what the problem was. They gave me a better room with no hesitation. Other than that minor problem the rest... Read the full Marriott Memphis Downtown review

Did not meet expectations

  • 3 out of 5 stars A traveler from Travelocity.com

Quote: We didn't arrive until 7:30 p.m. and they did not have a room for us. At 8:00 they said that "our" room had no beds in it! There was 3 family reunions plus a church event going on, so not only did we not get a room when we arrived, we had... Read the full Marriott Memphis Downtown review

Bad food, bad service- stay elsewhere when in Memphis

  • 1 out of 5 stars A traveler from Travelocity.com
  • July 22, 2008
Quote: The food was terrible everytime I ate in the hotel. The halls and elevators were not air conditioned and very hot. Only luke warm water in shower at all times. The concierge lounge did not open on time and a group of waiting customers used a house... Read the full Marriott Memphis Downtown review

No attention to necessary details

  • 2 out of 5 stars A traveler from Travelocity.com
  • November 23, 2007
Quote: I asked for a room with wi-fi, and consequently got one without. A minor problem, since they had cabled lan in the room. More annoying was that they charged 12 dollars for 24 h net starting noon. That meant that for me to utilize internet from the... Read the full Marriott Memphis Downtown review
