Description: The resort grounds are beautifully kept and there are many ways to enjoy them. There are roads and sidewalks for running or walking. The verandas with their oversized wooden rockers and tables are perfect for relaxing. Tennis courts are available near the magnificent, outdoor pool and playground area. There is a spa, fitness center, beauty salon, barber, and indoor pool with large Jacuzzi spa. The golf course looks nice, too.
There are also many things to do away from the resort in Clearwater. There are beautiful beaches, restaurants and shopping galore within 15 min. Tampa is about 40 min away.
You can be transported to another era, but not without a catch. The public rooms and hallways are romantic and elegant with chandeliers and comfy upholstered furniture. There is a wonderful lounge where you can enjoy a cocktail before dinner. The bedrooms are another story. The bathroom fixtures were damaged by rust and the countertop had a 3”square chip. The shower was great despite the old fixtures. The beds were very comfortable, but the windows rattled in the wind all night.
Despite the need for rehab, this is still a magical place. I would recommend a visit, perhaps just a short one though.
