Our 3 day stay at Comort Inn ans Suites Zoo was very pleasant. It is excellent value for money without compromising comfort or cleanliness. The rooms were surprisingly large, with a large bathroom and very comfortable the beds. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of not only the rooms but the entire building. Breakfast was lovely with all the necessities like cofees, tea, hot chocolate, juices, eggs, muffins, bagels, toast, cereals, waffles, fruit etc. This Comfort Inn is also centrally located to most tourist attractions like Gaslamp Quarter, Old Town, SeaWorld and the Zoo. The only exception is the Wild Animal Park which is 25 minutes away. We will definitely stay here again!
Functional, and good value for family

We stayed there Oct 21-24, 2008. We picked a junior suite with bunks so we had a king bed instead of a double. It was more of a partition than a separate room, but it gave enough privacy. Maid service was good, breakfast was plentiful and frequently refilled, but a little crowded during the last hour. The hotel is "nestled" (read "squeezed") into a spot a block off the highway, with plenty of parking and a short drive to downtown and harbor sights. You can also walk one block to the trolley shuttle and use that to hit the downtown/harbor spots. The pool was small, OK for kids, but the hot tub was hot. This is not a fancy hotel with resort grounds (almost no grounds, actually), but it is a good place to stay to be near things, and a good choice if you and the family want to spend money on activities instead of upscale lodging.

While the room was quite nice, with bunk beds for my kids (who didn't come unfortunately), I could not recommend this hotel to anyone. The water temp in the shower oscillated wildly between scalding and ice cold every time I showered.

Parking was not great. Elevators and rooms were dirty. Both locks in the room were broken. The breakfast area was very small. There wasn't enough seating to accomodate the amount of people. Not nearly as nice as it appears in the pictures!
Disappointed

We were disappointed in our room - it was not clean and we were given a handicapped room which we did not request. It was as far away as possible from the lobby, which seemed odd. Was dark and dingy, bathroom was the worst part.
