Know what you're getting

The hotel seems to be in transition under new management. The service was nice, the breakfast okay, and the room we stayed in beautiful and quite roomy for my family of 4. For being right next to the entry and elevator, we didn't have noise from them. However we could hear someone else's TV in our room and every time a kid jumped off the bed in the room above us. The beds looked nice and soft, but ended up being lumpy. We still slept okay and figure we got what we paid for. Would I stay there again? I'm leaning towards yes, but the jury is still out.

Very Nice Hotel

The hotel, although along a busy highway has extremely quiet rooms. Our room faced the highway and was very clean, looked like new, and was quiet. Breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. If we travel that way again and need a place to stay in Seaside, we would definitely go back to this hotel. It was conveniently close to the ocean, shops, restaurants, etc. We were very happy with our stay at this hotel.

stay away

We travel a lot but in this case we were away from our home 20 minutes away on an Adult retreat. I am used to having certain things in the room like hair dryers and shampoo?s, but not at this place all of those are available at the desk. The in room Jacuzzi had black stuff around the jets, the chair pads and carpet were filthy. There is no air conditioning. If you are bald and looking for a cheap place to crash this is for you. Staff was on the phone on personal calls most of the time; the TV is 7 ft. above the floor and was only viewable from one side of the bed but with 26 chanels there was nothing to see anyway. I provided the non-attentive staff a list of problems with the room. The bed could only be described as cheap but at least the bedding was clean in comparison to the stained towels, which were also cheap and in short supply. The pillows were awful! The one good thing about this motel is it is non-smoking/non-pet. If you are desperate this place is great but if you have a choice stay elsewhere, it's woth the money.

The worst motel I have ever stayed in

The room temperature was over 80 degrees. I called the front desk and received a lecture about how the motel used geothermal energy. He told me to open a window and turn on the air conditioner. I did. Two hours later it was still over 80 degrees. I found a fan in the hall and used it. An hour later it was still over 80 degrees. I called the front desk. The same fellow told me no refunds. I didn't ask for a refund...I wanted a solution. I went into the hall and began talking with another sufferer who was as exasperated as I. He had his door open and that wasn't helping either. I suppose if the front desk person had handled the situation better my opinion would not be as severe as it is. I went next door to the Motel 6 and checked out one of their rooms. It was fine so I spent the night in the Motel 6. My advice...if you want to go to Seaside and pay a reasonable rate, stay at the Motel 6. This Motel 6 was as nice as any motel I have stayed in. And, it was $30.00 a night cheaper than the Microtel which was the worst motel I can imagine.

Very clean, efficient rooms which are quite small, but a great price. Nice, friendly staff.
