Decent Accomodations For a Decent Price

Traveling to Florida from Indiana, we wanted a layover in Atlanta. Finding the hotbed of hotels around exit 18 on I-285 westbound, I didn't bother to book the hotel online prior to our travels. Mistake -- prices go up after dark. We stopped at the La Quinta Inn across the street first, finging the rate to be higher than we liked. Crossing the street to the Fairfield Inn Mariott, the clerk checked rates of the other hotels around and informed us that they were pretty much the same, so we decided to stop looking.
The place was clean, staff courteous, and they have a decent pool out back, though we weren't able to use it. Seeing as how we just wanted a roof over our head, it was quite all right. The best feature of the stay was the beds -- they were darn comfortable.
Their "fitness center" is a room with an elliptical and treadmill and a flat screen, which seemed to be plenty for the short-stay type of traveler. We didn't use that equipment either except to let our 15 month old son play on the treadmill carpet.
The continental breakfast was available for a quite a while and didn't end too early, which was nice. They had most everything one would expect: waffles, bread, bagels, fruit, coffee, juice, and cereal. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it hit the spot and we were on our way with full bellies and a restful night sleep behind us.
No Surprises

Can't beat it for the price. No uh-oh's or oh-no's. Clean, quiet, would stay again.Breakfast just a notch above similar hotels. Soft sheets, Bed comfortable, plenty of pillows.
