I had actually stayed at the Hyatt about ten years ago. I had forgotten how beautiful it is. The lobby, the shops, the location, the employees, are all wonderful. I upgraded to a room overlooking the beach. We stayed on the 29th floor and it was spectacular! The room was nicely furnished, good size. Three of us were in the room and were not cramped. The bathrooom is the most outdated thing in the room, but that didn't bother us.
Beware !!

Beware of the "hotel attempted scam": I made my booking for four (4) adults, my wife and my (2) daughters, their ages 19 and 21. Thus the booking was for four (4) adults. HOWEVER, as we checked into the Hyatt Regency, they attempted to charge me $* plus tax for EACH night of my seven (7) night stay. They called it "extra persons charge". How strange and odd since my booking and itinerary stated four (4) adults. Long story short, I refused to give into their demand and called for a manager at which time they had attempted to look like the good guys by saying: "ok, we'll waive it this time", as if they were doing me a favor when in fact I was protecting my wallet and defending my right. JUST BE CAREFUL!!
Other than that, the hotel was nice and most every one was helpful. However, the ocean view room was small and didn't have any dressers to put our clothes in so we had to dig into our suitcases daily.

I wanted to see my daughter stationed at Schofeild Barracks so I searched, looked, read every reveiw, went on multiple sites and after a hard decision process I settled on Wyatt Regency. I am so very glad I did, from the moment you walk onto the premises you can sense the excellence in service and the warmth of the staff and management. The smiling, sincere service, the way everyone remembers your name, the luxurious fit and finish, the attenion to detail, the ambiance of Honolulu makes the visit one you won't want to end. They treated us like royalty and my daughter felt like I arranged all that just for her. please don't think cheap when traveling here, don't try and get a good deal, you are coming to Haiwaii, make the most of this vacation so that the fond memories last a lifetime. They make you feel wonderful each and everyday. Hints about food: get the package that includes the breakfast buffet every morning, they seat at a table and your choices range from pancakes, waffles, danishes, toast, omelets made to order, sausages, bacon, ham.crepes, fresh fruits, hot and cold cereals, fresh baked breads, cheeses, salads, 4 kinds of juices,4 kinds of milk, coffee, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, florentine, warmed real maple syrup, real butter. Wanna go back for seconds? it's included along with tax and gratutiy. You fill up here and it'll last all the way till dinner, walk two blocks in any direction ( except west, you'll be in the surf) and you can find lots of options. The onsite Expedia and concierce make booking trips easy. We had a wonderful time and I can't wait to go back there again and I'm really grateful that I had the insight to book there, it made all the difference in the world!

This location is perfect for familys, you can walk to shopping and if you have teens like me you can safely let them walk around by themselves in this area. Lots of local dining options. They had a Dive-In theater at the pool on some evenings kept the kids occupied in the pool in the evening and they could watch a family friendly movie at the same time. Desk staff were very helpful in helping plan every excursion including a day trip to Maui by Air. It was a splurge, but every request was handled marvelously. The little snack shack outside the hotel was great for lunch and very affordable and had healthy choices. Surfing school and canoe ride were just steps from the hotel. WE all loved it. We had a room on side of hotel facing the famous pink hotel. It was great, we could people watch and see the ocean at the same time. We also had a handicap accessible room which was great for two teen girls and their aunt. They were very helpful when friend who lives in Hawaii stayed over, they brought a roll away bed and we all had a slumber party.
