My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. We could not have asked for a better location!!! We were in the middle of all the shopping and entertainment. Two blocks down is the beginning of the trolly line and the mall (if you love shopping =) The room was small of course (only a bed and a desk, and a large flat screen!), but for what we paid, it felt like a steal! The water pressure in the shower was excellent, and everything was super clean. We were never cold, and the windows opened when we were hot. Our room faced the back of the building so there was no street noise! We never had breakfast, but we heard it's good =) (we are not morning people!). We saw several hotels we had considered but were too expensive as we were walking to our hotel. It made us think, why pay more for the same location? The rooms will be small anywhere...this is San Francisco! so in our opinion, if you are ok with just a bed, a shower, and an awesome flat screen tv, this is the hotel for you! We will definitely stay here next time.

This hotel is located right in the middle of union square, right next to the big Macys and in the center of many other shops and malls. The cable car line passes right through this street so it is easy to take. The hotel is clean, safe, and comfortable and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are a little small with just enough space to move around comfortably. They have a nice little breakfast in the morning with muffins, cereal, toast, coffee and juice. It is a good hotel to spend a night or two and then go off during the day but if you are looking for a lot of extra activities there are none in the hotel but there are plenty all around in the city. Overall, the hotel is affordable and in the middle of everything!!

Great location, friendly staff and near great dining and shopping.

One thing is for sure, the location was the best, you can shop, eat and be entertained by just walking near the area. The room is very small but comfortable enough for sleeping. You only need it at night. There's no free internet connection. Overall it's a great hotel due to the location, if the room was just bigger it would be perfect!

I loved the atmosphere at the Stratford. The location can't be beat, and even late at night, we could find things to do and place to eat. There's a nice Italian restaurant across the street and a cheap Thai place around the corner. Also near a lot of shopping. The rooms are SUPER small, and our view wasn't the best (an alley), but the rooms were so clean and affordable, and the staff was so helpful, that room size really doesn't matter at all. I will definitely be staying at the Stratford on my next trip to San Francisco.
