The staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. You really get the feel like you are staying in a five star hotel.
One day on our return from our travels, room service had decorated our room with stunning sculptures made from towels!
Breakfast took some getting used, especially if you are not used to eating salad first thing on a morning. It is a buffet style breakfast and guests help themselves.
Room service is available for a small charge.
The only downside is that the hotel is opposite a Mosque. While the view is remarkable, the call to prayer at 5am is loud! Be prepared for the early wake up call.

The place is run by a wonderful old woman who lives on the bottom floor with her husband. She speaks enough English to for you to have a small conversation and she'll bend over backwards to help in any way she can.
The location can't be beat: you're overlooking the harbor and you're within walking distance from everything in town. Also, check out the ruins from ancient Kaldonia, which are right across the street.
Chania is literally filled with pensions, domatia, and various rooms for rent, and this is one of the cheapest. The photo is from the balcony of room number one, looking out over the harbor.
