When looking for a hotel to book my family into for their first holiday in Hong Kong, I decided to book into the Novotel Hong Kong Century. This hotel is my established home away from home when I am in Hong Kong on business. My family were delighted with every aspect of the hotel from the incredibly attentive staff to the clean rooms and the general ambience and convenient location in Wanchai. My family have been the best advertisement for the hotel since we returned home to Australia. As for me I will continue to happily make the Novotel Century my hotel of choice in Hong Kong.

This hotel is in a great spot. Close to Star ferry so you can go to Kowloon. Close to Causeway bay; where you can shop till you drop. Close to central; think trendy, great restaurants in Soho Elgin and Staunton st. If you stay here, it is like you are in the middle of Hong Kong ? able to do everything! Even the beaches are only 10 min away. The rooms are a little small, but you are in the heart of Hong Kong with so much to do; you are hardy ever in the room! The hotel is very nice and newly redecorated. Very comfortable bed. The Buffet breakfast was amazing, the gym has all the new equipment, the swimming-pool is very clean. Great bar with free buffet snacks if you buy two drinks. Staff helpful and pleasant. If you are into partying with life bands Wan chai is also the party district! If you are here to go to the trade shows it is a 5 min walk ... perfect all round hotel . No complaints. I would stay here again!
What to do in Hong Kong : Go to the peak, have dinner in cafe Decco. Go to Stanley market, Go to kowloon and walk through the markets, flower-market , bird market, jade, kitchen, ladies market. Shop at the outlet malls in Tung Chung and catch the cable car up to big Buddha, have lunch, walk down ( 2 hour walk or catch cable car). Watch the laser light show on the water at 8, go to lamma Island and have lunch or dinner. If you have money, book a window table at Aqua for dinner... have a champagne and enjoy Hong Kong :)

The shampoo/shower gel dispenser in the bathroom had mold on it (there was no other shampoo in the room) and the room did not appear very clean. Additionally, internet, breakfast, and a host of other things were not included in the price of the room and we were nickel and dimed to no end for these things. I would not recommend this hotel. Very surprised it was rated 4 stars.
