Don't expect a hotel like home.

Our room was pretty small. The beds were different sizes. One was a twin. One was a full. The mattresses were something like you'd find in a baby bed. Very hard. I was in Marine Corps Infantry for 8 years, but even this made my back hurt. Staff was friendly, some didn't speak very good English. Continental breakfast, is less than that. Bread. Fruit out of a can...in Hawaii? They can't do better? If all you're needing is a place to lay your head, this place is ok. It's within easy walking distance of the beach and many good restaurants. I would not recommend if you're taking children along.
Great, if you upgrade rooms

We booked a standard room originally. When we walked into the room I wanted to cry. It looked like a roach motel room. The mattress was so thin you could feel the springs. We immediately went back downstairs and upgraded to a studio room by the pool.
That room was very nice and big. It had it's own kitchen area and couches. The beds are very comfortable as well. I recommend this hotel if you plan to get the studio. I would not recommend booking a standard room.
Great location!

Walking distance to all-things Waikiki nightlife. The only downfall, however, is the price of parking. Be prepared to spend a lot on overnight parking, they only do valet. Street parking is incredibly sparse, mostly the residents/locals just station their cars along Ala Wai Blvd.
Great view of Ala Wai Golf Course. Hospitality floor is very convenient, the pool is decent, although no good views of Waikiki or the beach, being more inland than the rest of Waikiki. Great price, and good location as far as being close to many things to walk to.
Oh, I forgot, the plumbing is very noisy. Just one turn of the faucet sets off thunderstorm-like noises across the pipes in the hotel's interior structure. You can also hear every neighbor when they turn on their faucets as well. Annoying, but you get over it after the first few storms.
Excellent value

Nice location next to canal Ali Wai, very close to beach (200 yds) and shopping malls. Might be a little noisy at a time (unless doors are kept close) - which is inevitable given the traffic on the island. Very helpful staff. At the time there was some construction going on, yet it practically didn't affect the stay and services offered. Rooms are clean although carpets may use some extra effort. Hospitality room offers place for most basic needs including Internet. There were no Wi-Fi in room, but cable was provided promptly at request. Free complimentary breakfast to start off your day. Pool was a little cool, but a hot tub was nice especially in November ;). Excellent value for money. I would stay again.
Just okay

While not right on the beach, this hotel is at least at the right end of Waikiki, not up near the Ft. DeRussey end. But it is a bit of a schlep to the sand- it's located on the canal at the other side of Waikiki from the beach.
Front desk and other staff was not overly friendly or helpful, just okay. Continental breakfast is not worth waking up for: only mini-donuts, mini-croissants and toast not served with a smile.
If all you need is a clean place to sleep in between trips to the beach and don't mind a bit of a walk, this hotel is a good value.
