Lovely hotel

We stayed at the Dunhill March 20-22, 2009 in a Victoria Queen/Queen room and enjoyed our stay. The employees and intern at the hotel were WONDERFUL! Check-in was flawless with our room ready at 2:30 pm. The room comfortably held two queen size beds, a chair and a desk with a chair along with a flat screen television. Free WI-FI was easy to connect. We could tell the rooms had been updated. The bathroom was clean and fresh smelling. The only thing missing was a fan in the bathroom. We parked in the garage next to the hotel and only paid $15 for the first day, after that parking was free. Not sure why but it was. Location was great for walking to local attractions, restaurants and bars. A great place to stay. I normally stay at the Westin but this was a wonderful hotel. I would definitely stay again. The employees offered great recommendations on restaurants and attractions. LOVED IT!! We utilized the car service to be dropped off and picked up at an event downtown and our driver was pleasant and knowledgable about the area. Easy access from the highway and quiet sleeping. The candy at the front desk was addictive. The hotel is small but very cozy. Entry doors are locked at night and require key card entry. We were two women traveling alone and felt safe at all times. Didn't like: no fan in the bathroom. glasses instead of plastic cups in bathroom

I like it

I have stayed here twice in the last year and find these comments to be consistent: Clean rooms, Friendly staff, Good parking arrangments, Very comfortable bed. My only complaint is the room didn't have any space, the bed consumed almost all of the room. A good room for an over night stay but if you will be spending several days in Charlotte choose a hotel with more leg room. The Dunhill is next door to the discovery place which is great for the kids (I don't have kids, but I still had a lot of fun there). It is also in walking distance to the "tin tin box and noodles" great cheap japanese food, I go everytime I am in Charlotte.

I'm from NY and stayed at the Dunhill from Jan 15-19th. It is a very quiet and clean hotel. The staff was very friendly from the moment we checked in. The only issue I had occurred during our first day and our room was not cleaned. I spoke to the front desk staff and they were very apologetic and gave me a complimentary breakfast, which was really nice because I wasn't expecting anything. The rooms were spacious and came with a mini fridge to store drinks and other things. the beds very comfortable after walking all around charlotte and the price to stay there is extremely reasonable. The hotel is in walking distance to everything and would highly recommend anyone looking to stay in uptown charlotte to stay at the Dunhill.

From the moment I walked thru the door, I was treated like a King. The whole staff at this property was 100%. I was given a renovated room (the hotel was in the process of upgrading the rooms. The only way I knew they were working in the hotel is one of the elevators was shut down during the day. I never heard ANY construction noise) I left my do not disturb sign on the whole time I was there and never heard a peep from anyone. Even though the hotel was practically full, I hardly saw anyone. The rooms are great, free internet is awesome, the pillow top mattress was fabulous.

From the doorman that opened the door for me, to the front desk staff and concierge service, this hotel staff knows how to treal it's guests. Very accomodating. The room was nicely appointed and comfortable as though I was staying in a friends guest room. The bathroom was equally as nice with marble floors, grantie counter tops, and wall nozzels in the shower. The only thing I was mildly dissappointed in was that I the air conditioning did not keep the room as cool as I like it even on the lowest setting. Also, even on the 8th floor, I could hear a street band on the corner well into Saturday night. I would still stay at this hotel again and recommend it.
