We have lived overseas since 1986 and have stayed at some very basic accommodation, yet never have we had anywhere an experience like we did in Calgary. Stampede Week, it seemed the entire city was booked. We felt lucky finding the Ramada Inn in Motel Village- in the suburbs, pool, only about $120/night. After the first night I thought the reason I was itching was the housekeepers must have left the windows open the day before, allowing mosquitoes to enter, though I found none. The third day I noticed an insect the size of a small ladybug crawling on the sheets, full of blood. Never seen anything like it. I then noticed here and there on the sheets what had to have been old blood stains in small drip patterns, now more or less washed out, indicating a long-term infestation. I was able to catch several more bedbugs, in full view of the motel manager. I had insisted Mr. Charn come to the room to see, and he then got permission to 'comp' our stay. But it was already too late for me. That second night, the bedbugs had swarmed me. I estimated I had easily hundreds of bites that itched with a fireceness I can't hope anyone to understand. I bought oral & topical antihistimines, but they didn't help much. I wrote a letter to the Calgary Health Region as well as to Ramada HQ, to follow-up eradication measures the motel manager told me he would take. I asked Ramada HQ to write me back and detail to me their next steps. They responded only by saying their obligation to us was fulfilled at the time they'd 'comped' our stay! With no accountability, you the traveller take your chances with extreme grief at this motel!

staff not accomodating. changed type of room, finally delivered a broken pack and play, air conditioner broken and no compensation offered, holes in bedspread, water behind toilet, carpet wet under sink, no washclothes in either room, security in question in parking lot due to renting of spaces to others, overall quality not deserving of being a Ramada Limited
Awful

This was the filthiest, most disgusting place I have ever seen, let alone stayed in. We cancelled the rest of our reservation because of it. The rooms reek of smoke and there were stains on the carpet, bedding and furniture. DO NOT STAY HERE!

This was one of the most run down, hotels/motels we had ever stayed at. You had the feeling that you didn't want to touch the carpet with bare feet. All the bed were sagging. The phone and most of the lights in our room did not work. We also found a half-eaten chocolate bar next to our bed upon entering that looked like it had been there awhile. Run-down, yucky rooms.
