Good & Bad

Rooms VERY small if more than 1 guest staying. Hotel is really a 2*. Worth using if you get a good price and want a quick hit on Manhattan. 1 Minute walk to Times Square. Do NOT pay the rack rate as you can get far better for far less in this area. If on a budget, lots of good diners within 10 minutes walk. Planet Hollywood is on Times Square and does good basic food at a reasonable price (Burger and fries @ $9.00 (April '09))and is great entertainment for adults and kids Summary: Use if on a tight budget and/or only staying one or two nights. Good location. 2* hotel. Clean rooms. Shop around before booking.

Great renovated Hotel

We have stayed at the Belvedere for 7 years. Recently, their rates increased so we decided to try the Paramount. What a pleasant surprise. Great hotel that was recently remodeled. Small room but clean and a comfortable bed. Housekeeping staff were very polite and did a great job every day. Front desk staff was very courteous and efficient. The only small complaint I have is that the doorman stood at the front door but NEVER opened the door for guests. I did not take it personally because I never saw them open the door for anyone else either. I overheard several other guests complaining about that also in the elevators. Overall, it was a great experience and we will certainly return.

The lobby was great, the room was very nice (recently renovated), though a bit small. The location is superb, and the price was right!

What an awful hotel!

The website definitely makes the hotel look much better than it is. The lobby is awesome.. but thats about it. The room was literally the size of a closet. You could barely walk around the bed which was nothing more than a mattress on the floor. The heat was stuck on 80 and even after we called to have it fixed, it was no better. The television was like.. 13inches and the whole room had painting falling off the walls. Don't stay in this hotel. You can get a room for the same price with MUCH better serivce/quality. TRUST ME.

This is a nice hotel situated in Midtown. The lobby is cavernous, if a little dark. At one time they had furniture that reminded me of Dr. Seuss books, but now their furniture is a little less kooky. On the second floor of the lobby area is a nice little bar serving drinks, and there's also a large bar just next door.

The rooms themselves can be on the small side, but the beds are extremely comfortable, even if you CAN touch both walls on either side. I'd recommend this hotel for any single traveler who wants a cozy but comfortable room. For a room share, I'd only recommend it to a couple who REALLY like each other and don't mind feeling a bit cramped.

The prices might scare some people once they see the size of the rooms, but the hotel is in a perfect location (Midtown, close to Times Square and the theater district) and that's really what you are paying for here.
