Our stay at the Omni in Charlottesville was fabulous. The area, staff, and room are absolutely charming. The hotel back entrance opens to an indoor ice rink surrounded by windows. We could see the team playing hockey! The back entrance opens onto a cobble stoned street with lots of shops, little pub type bars, and restaurants. The bar were Dave Matthews bartended is there! A great place for a relaxing, cool, and fun weekend. Charming, Charming Charlottesville!

We stayed here because of the proximity to the Downtown Mall. We received good service and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom could have been cleaner, but the hotel overall was quite nice. The omelet bar was delicious.

The Omni is a wonderful place for a weekend escape. Locate right on the downtown walking mall, shops and restaurants are readily available. The location offers quick access to wine country. Perfect!
The Omni Hotel

I stayed at the Omni Hotel in May of 2003. Therefore, things may have changed since then. At the time I stayed there, I found my room to be quiet, clean, and comfortable.
If you want to stay near the historic downtown area of Charlottesville, this is a good choice. If you want to be close to the university, there are better choices, however.
I found the Omni to be nothing special—just your average hotel chain. They don't have a free continental breakfast, but they do have a decent restaurant within the hotel. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.
