Excellent Experience - Great Deal!

This hotel exceeded our expectations by a lot. We stayed in a courtyard room (the "Motel" portion of the inn). The room was extremely clean, everything worked (fridge, microwave, TV, lights, Wi-Fi, shower, bathroom fan, heater, a/c unit, coffee maker) and the "accessories" were top-quality (soap, shampoo, condition, body wash, lotion, large glass coffee cups). The towels were huge, plentiful, and very fluffy - what a treat! There were at least 4 pillows on each bed, and they were substantial. The bedding was warm, clean, and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was very nice - included pastries, cold cereals, juice, coffee, hot oatmeal (packaged) and a large-screen television in a very comfortable upstairs lounge. The ambience of the hotel is beautiful - huge windows in the lobby to take in the gorgeous mountain views, a lovely fire in the lobby, free internet in the lobby, and a very friendly and helpful staff. The location couldn't be better - all of the downtown area is within walking distance, and so is the amazing Visitor Center, a must-see for visitors. All in all, a super experience, a great hotel, can't recommend it highly enough! We visited in the "off-season" (mid-April).

Exceeded our high expectations!

We loved this new inn that's just a short walk to the town square. It was a slower time of year, partly due to the economy, and we were upgraded to a suite in the main building. Rooms were spotlessly clean and attractively decorated. We didn't feel at all cramped. Nothing was overlooked. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When the front desk learned we had booked the Yellowstone snow mobiling day, they gave each of us a complimentary tube of "Jeep" lip protector. Much appreciated and it was 10x better than ChapStick. Many good restaurants are within easy walking distance, and the front desk takes the time to provide names, price ranges and best recommendations. The day after we returned home, the manager phoned to advise that an iPod charger was left in our son's adjoining room. They were very happy to package it up and return it to him. How many hotels provide that kind of service? We love Jackson Hole, and we'll certainly return to the Trapper Inn.

Generally Pleasant Accommodations

Very Clean. Pleasant staff. Adequate continental breakfast. Small uninviting pool. Location was very good for walking exploration of Jackson. The bottom floor was quite noisy. Every sound from room above was noticed. Staff did not seem to be truly concerned regarding the noise. They suggested that (next time) I ask for an unstairs room even though it was more expensive.

Misleading Website,Exterior Rooms are out of 1980s (Very Bad)

Upon arival (8 degrees out side) the heat was not turned on in our room. The lobby was very nice but when we walked into our exterior room, it was like walking into the 1980's. We thought we were getting a 2006 updated room and it was not(as website states). The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. We were kept awake every night by the squeaky and uninsulated cellings from the people upstairs. The bathroom wall heater did not work well and the shower curtain leaked water everywhere while showering. Also after settleing in we found out that the wi-fi did not work in this building and so we had to walk across the parking lot to the loby to use the internet. Breakfast stunk!!!! The coffee and hot water was luke warm everyday. They seemed to always be running low on food no matter what time we would go to eat breakfast. After a 2100+ mile drive from NC, it was not what we were expecting. Location was great. The only high point at the hotel was the nice loby and hotel clerk named Bryan. He was a big help in directing us and giving us ideas of things to see and do.

Our 2 room suite was large and clean. The beds were comfortable, the furnishings in good shape, and the staff very courteous. A bit pricey, but that is to be expected in Jackson. Easy walk to the town square, restaurants and shopping. The Tetons were stunning!
