No Sleep!

The bed was not made and had to walk to office to get sheets! Had to make my own bed. The coach folded out into bed but did not fit in room. The end of the pull out had to rest on the kitchen counter. The night was spent listening to clicking sounds in an uncomfortable bed thinking about the disgusting pillow thrown in the corner. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. This was disappointing because ESA's are usually great.

Embassy Suites Phoenix Airport

Embassy Suites Phoenix Airport

The Embassy Suites offered comfortable accommodations at a reasonable price. Though the bedding appears to have been updated, the rest of our room appeared dated. There is even an old television set with wood paneling that sits on the floor in the sitting room.

The hotel has a courtyard in the center with open air seating. The rooms are on the perimeter of the courtyard. This means that while technically the rooms are all interior rooms, there is no real interior. And, if you're worried about security, you probably don't want to stay here. There is a metal gate that leads into the halls, but it is easily propped open; We often found it this way when we returned to the hotel.

When checking in, you may want to consider requesting to see a particular room to see how loud the ambient noise is. Both the North and West facing rooms seem very loud due to the busy streets they face. I imagine the East facing rooms are the least noisy. The South facing rooms may or may not be noisy based on which corner they're on.

As with all other Embassy Suites, there is a cocktail reception with appetizers nightly. However, if the reception was representative of their normal service, don't count on skipping dinner. I've been to several Embassy Suites before and have found them to have chicken wings, potato skins, mozzarella sticks, and the like. This Embassy Suites solely had popcorn and chips and salsa every night during the week I was staying there. Additionally, make sure you tip the bartender or you will stay drinkless after drink number one unless you are really aggressive about catching his attention (as one non-tipping customer was).

All in all, the hotel was decent if you're just sleeping there. If you're looking for a hotel to spend more time at, I suggest trying one of the other Embassy Suites in the area. The Tempe location has always been very nice and comfortable. The reception is also much nicer (and widely recognized as such - college students sneak in frequently for the free food and drinks).

I give this hotel a 3 on a scale of 1 to 5.

This hotel was not as bad as other reviews indicated. The staff was very friendly & helpful. The rooms are a little old, and could use some updating. Breakfast was very good, roomservice was fast and reasonable. Overall a good place to stay, although the surrounding area was a little rough.

I reserved online, when I checked in lobby smelled musty. Went to room and the same. I immediately checked out. It should not have the Embassy Suite Logo
