Not Very Happy

I was very disappointed by this hotel. I read the reviews and don't know if those people stayed in one of the refurbished rooms. I don't believe our room was one of those. We never had enough towels. When I went to the front desk they had to get towels from somewhere outside of the hotel. They did get the towels, though, but didn't give me the one on the top because it had makeup on it. The room could of used a coat of paint, needed the door lock fixed, needed new (not dirty and cracked) lampshades, etc.. It was old. The front desk staff were friendly and tried to be helpful and the bathroom was pretty clean. I would not stay here again. I way overpaid for this room.

After another hotel lost my reservation, I found this Days Inn down the street. While I expected a very moderate stay due to it being an "economy" hotel chain (Days Inn), I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel's amenities.
One thing that impressed me is that th manager recognized me as a business traveler due to me using my corporate AMEX, and thus suggested a room near a wireless access station so I could get the best signal. I also got bumped up to a room on the first floor near a parking space.
Guest room was nice, breakfast was good too in the morning.
Overall, above my expectations - glad the other hotel lost my reservation! I will stay there again next time I come to ETSU on business.

I expected the usual "Days Inn" but was pleasantly surprised to have a very nice stay with a staff who acted like they were running a 5-star hotel. Very nice and accomodating, and they all went over and above the call of duty when I needed extra towels at 2AM.
