Next time, we will pay more and stay somewhere else

The location was great, quiet, close to places to eat, movies... people at the front desk were nice and looked up the phone number for the movie theater for us... and the pillows were great. The problems were that the hottub was broken and the outdoor pool was closed, there were no microwaves (even though the website said that there were), refridgerators were available only for an extra charge, the bathroom grout was not clean, there was a hair stuck to the tile, there was mildew above the shower on the ceiling, the air conditioner in the room was very loud, there was no breakfast buffet and we had to go to the front desk to get a special coupon for our complimentary breakfast (shouldn't breakfast be complimentary for all guests, not just ones that book through a particular website?) which we decided to skip because it took so long for the waitress to get there. Ithaca is such a beautiful place so my family had a great time anyway, despite the problems at the hotel, but next time we will stay someplace else.

Hotel Experience

Front desk staff very friendly - check in very quick. Good location - close to Cornell, easy access to Rt 13. Room - standard for the price, nice decor, adequate lighting, even had a mini-frig. Bathroom could use updating and we could hear other guests quite clearly through the vent in that room. Could also hear guests in hallway quite clearly. Heater in the room was very loud, but since we forgot to mention this to the staff, I don't know if that problem could have been repaired. One concern we had - the side entrances to the hotel did not lock at night. Sunday brunch/buffet was very nice. Great selection, fresh, made-to-order omelets, other egg dishes hot and not dried out, as happens with many buffets. Even the baked goods were very fresh. Price was also very reasonable and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. All-in-all a decent place to stay for the price, but again, our main concern was the unlock side doors.

Locked Out

We ended up locked out of our room due to inoperative keys three times and spent over an hour and a half total standing in the hall waiting for them to find master keys. Yes, there had been a power outage earlier, but we had a hard time convincing them we did know how to use a key card and there was something wrong. Other than that, the place and people were nice.

What a Surprise!

"We stayed here in 06 and came again this year. The rooms had all been beautifully redecorated. The staff is so accommodating and polite. The restaurant needs updating, but the food was tasty! "

We were in Ithaca to visit Cornell University and the Ramada is only a couple miles from campus. The staff was helpful and we definately stay here again. We had a very nice room, newly renovated with new furniture and a great pillow top mattress. There is a pool, but we did not get time to swim. The Sunday Brunch was great and Dinner was good.
