Higland Hotel Review

The hotel is in a very nice section of Phoenix. A little tough to find, because they have just changed the name of the hotel and they have a temporary sign covering the old one. It's just around the corner from the Ritz-Carlton and down the street from the amazing and historic Arizona Biltmore. There is also a high end shopping mall very closeby. When yo take all of that into account, the price to stay at the Hotel Highliand is a bargain. However, the hotel is a bit rundown. It's in serious need of an interior decorator. It's just dated. The staff is quite friendly and the breakfast was acceptable. IF price and location are more important than decor, then, you can probably deal with the Hotel Highland for a night or two. But, next time, I'm going to be spending the money and experiencing the stunning Arizona Biltmore. It's heaven on earth for Frank Lloyd Wright fans.

Our stay in Phoenix.

The location of the Hotel is great and very easy to get to anywhere in the Valley. The continental breakfast is very good and the staff very friendly. The rooms need some upgrading but were very clean. My biggest beef are the beds. It felt like we were sleeping on cardboard. The front desk told me that they have begun remodeling the rooms and that the beds will be replaced with new and comfortable ones in the near future.

Great Place, Good Location

The staff was friendly, the breakfast was plentiful and a good selection. They will soon be remodeling so the decor was dated but clean and comfortable. It was the perfect place for a good rate. We would definitely stay there again and probably will when we visit my college child. Only negative is finding it late at night. It's a little hard to find. However, the staff attendant gave us great directions. I appreciate the complimentary cookies, fruit and water in the evenings too!

The location was great, right near shopping and dining. Value was excellent due to the hot summer rate. Best continental breakfast of any hotel I've stayed. Only negative item was that the front desk people were not warm and people friendly, not once did anyone wish me a good morning/afternoon/evening while hanging around the lobby near the front desk or passing through. If you can deal with that, can't beat the overall value.
