Please note that we are retired and travel a great deal now, so in writing this I have a great basis for comparison. We made the reservation since we were under the impression that the hotel was great, how could we go wrong? We found out that very misleading advertisements caused us to not enjoy our stay for the following reasons: #1) the room was dirty, ESPECIALLY around the bed and behind the night stand- really filthy! 2) The room was very plain and the windows and the screens on the windows were filthy. 3) We found what looked to be either mouse or rat droppings inside of the room. 4) The screens were HANGING on the windows. 5) When we tried to turn on the AC or the fan, the room heated up to boiling temp. When we called the front desk, we were told that the AC is turned OFF, and that unless you want the room to heat up, no air circulation is possible. 6) Went to breakfast(?) this is food that I would not feed a dog--not quality at all. Could not even eat it. Every morning the maids would come BANGING on our doors at 9 am to clean the room, even though check-out is 11 am- even with a sign outside. SUMMARY: DO NOT be fooled by the cutsie exterior, this place has not even earned a trophie since 2001! Maybe at one time is was nice, but since that time things have REALLY down downhill. Would never stay again since there are soo many other really nice places to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Picadilly Shaw. From checking in to checking out, the staff was pleasant and helpful. Our room was very nice...larger than many hotel rooms we've stayed in....easy to get from the parking lot. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and we enjoyed sitting in some of the common areas just to take it in. The hotel's location was a BIG plus for us, since our spare time was spent shopping......many stores and restaurants within blocks. We have chosen this location for our family reunion this spring. We're really looking forward to another very pleasant travel experience.
FRIENDLY STAFF, COMFORTABLE, CLEAN & SPACIOUS ROOM

Definitely will stay at the SHAW my next trip to Fresno. Staff are courteous, friendly and helpful. The grounds are well maintained and clean. Easy free parking by room. The room was comfortable, spacious and larger than most. Very clean room and shower had two . . . count 'em, not one, but two shower heads. Ahhhhh, so soothing . . . stayed in the shower for a good 1/2 hour (carefull thou, the hot water sneaks up on you . . . so tweek the hot & cold until you're comfortable). The Piccadilly SHAW is only about a mile away from Fashion Mall where you can get some good eats at Cheese Factory or the neighboring Steak House (if you're in the mood for steak, DO NOT go to the SHAW recommended "Tahoe Joes" . . . steak is tough . . . we should have gone to the Steak House at the Fashion Mall).
Only downside to our stay was the pool is not heated (this is Dec., so didn't have much use for a "cold" pool). Also the jacuzzi was not operational. Now the jacuzzi we missed, would have been nice to soak ourselves up along those pulsating whirl jets.
Also the SHAW is a convienient location . . . if you get the munchies in the middle of the night, skip the little strip mall across the side street and venture another block down . . . there's a Jack in the Box and a Rite Aid. Or, hop in the car and drive 1/3 mile down Shaw to the better equipped strip mall.
Hope this helps and gives you some insight on what to expect with your selection of Piccadilly Inn at SHAW. . . Enjoy ! ! !

Overall my stay was great! I did see however, that the security should have been a lot better, because it was dark going to my building at night alone, and the morning of my departure, there was a man standing outside in the parking area at 4:45 smoking a cigarette, I was being met at that time by a gentleman , who was waiting when i walked outside. I am not sure what would have happened had he not been there already! Overall a nice hotel, but please do something about security at night because of those cottages !

We have stayed at the Picadilly Hotels in Fresno and really enjoy the one located on SHAW. The rooms are larger and very comfortable. Clean, quiet and convienent location. They have a nice expanded continental breakfast. We forgot somethng in our room. We called the next day and received the item by FedEx within 3 days. We will definately stay at this hotel again and again.
